Yardbird is a fantastic, Southern inspired treat, especially the brunch menu. And it's so convenient to most hotels in the downtown DC area.

The service’s were very nice the food…. 🫤….. I was surprised that the food was not up to its usual standard.

My wife and I ate here Saturday evening before going to the theater across the street. We were seated promptly, served reasonably quickly, and got to the show early enough to take advantage of general admission. Total time <1h. The noise level was deafening Conversation was impossible, and my ears starting hurting after just a few minutes. That made me eager to leave Yardbird. The noise made communication with our server difficult and very inefficient. We ended up receiving our drinks when we were almost finished eating. And I ordered a side, even though my entree came with sides. My wife enjoyed her protein bowl and ate it all. I had the short rib, which came with lots of delicious things in a very rich dark gravy, served over mashed potatoes. The fried okra was disappointing. Although it was perfectly cooked, it lacked flavor. I strongly suspect it was frozen pre-breaded.

Our food was delicious. My bestie and I went during the volleyball tournament. I had the shrimp and grits and she had the chicken and waffles. Our waiter was lackluster but I’m going to attribute it to how busy the restaurant was during our visit. Overall the food made up for the unfriendly service by our waiter. I do want to mention, two other persons, perhaps managers, came by our table and were super friendly and helpful!

food was excellent...the service was a little below what i would expect but there was a huge 3 day event at the convention center, so that might explain it.

We enjoyed our early dinner, food and service were outstanding. Even though there were some menu items that were not available, we still enjoyed our dinner.

Yardbird will always be one of our go to’s when we’re in DC, the vibe, food and drinks are always top notch.
