Charming choices are at your feet, the moment you enter through our doors you will be met with a welcome only a independent family run business can provide. What will it be today - the Bistro for breakfast and brunch on our cosy Chesterfield sofas or perhaps you will take the winding staircase to our lush cocktail bar for something to sip on over supper? YAZ is all about laidback-luxury with a Mediterranean / Middle Eastern twist, so you can expect great vibes and gorgeous food throughout the day and late into the night. In the same way our venue offers two settings, with the ground floor for a more casual cosy Bistro experience and the first floor indulging you in an elegant evening rendezvous, where you can stroll on to our heated outdoor alfresco balcony to sip on a cocktail of your choice with the Mediterranean sun gleaming upon your face. YAZ there's no place like it.

Unfortunately I was so disappointed in this place after hearing good things about it. I went here for Valentine’s Day hoping for a good meal to top off a good day and I was disappointed to say the least. The service was appalling, I was at the restaurant for an hour and 40 minutes and didn’t even receive my desserts at the end. The main courses were sat on our table for 45 minutes after finishing them. We didn’t want to wait for the dessert and just wanted to get the bill and leave. I paid £98 for two meals, and it was a set menu, I didn’t even receive the desserts and still paid that price. To say I am disappointed and not satisfied is kind words to what I could say. I doubt I will ever return to this place and if I could get my money back I would feel it’s deserved.

Food was very tasty. The setting was nice and good effort had gone into decoration, but it was very cold upstairs because of a hole in the ceiling. The service was terrible. Very slow and was completely ignored by staff that seemed panicked and clueless. Waited 45 minutes after finishing our mains before having to get up to request our dessert. Had to get up again to get our bill. At £75 a head i would expect far more.

always awesome food! will keep visiting for lunch though as better value during early hours.

The food is absolutely delicious always. The staff are sweet and friendly too. Great little spot.

My friend and I booked a last minute dinner date at one of our local spots. We’d been to Yaz a number of times for breakfast, lunch and dinner and had always had tasty, well portioned food and good customer service. However, on this particular occasion this was not the case. One of the items I ordered from the menu was unfortunately not to the standard I expected. I took one bite, requested some black pepper,took a second bite and informed the waiter i was disappointed and sent the item back. The waiter apologised and explicitly stated that she would ‘remove the item from the bill’ and would see if there is anything else she can do for me. I half expected her to recommend another item from the menu which I would have been happy to pay for, but this did this not happen. Instead much later she returned to our table to inform me the chef had stated there is nothing wrong with my food and it was to the normal standard. My friend I thought it was an odd statement to make as it came across a little defensive. Later when the bill arrived the item had not been removed. I highlighted this to the same waitress who had served us and she denied that she had agreed to remove the item. I was shocked, thankfully my friend was able to verify what she had heard, which corroborated what I heard. I was extremely disappointed and quite offended and asked to speak to manager. The waiter later returned without the manager but with a revised bill, the contested item had been removed, the manager never came to see us. My friend expressed how disappointed we were with the service and the managers failure to speak to us. What made this experience poor for us was not NOT the standard of the food (though disappointing, it was only one item), but the way in which the matter was dealt with, the way in which the waiter tried to gaslight me by lying about what she had said, and the managers absence/refusal to engage with us. This was an extremely disappointing experience.

Great food as always, lovely restaurant in terms of aesthetic and ambience. On the occasion this food did take a long time to come out, the is an exception rather than a rule though. Still the best restaurant in Highams park

Always love Yaz for family dinners, lovely food, staff and decor. Great local for special occasions or just breakfasts.
