I came to this restaurant with high expectations, but unfortunately, the food was rather superficial. Every dish used the same seasoning and was excessively salty. The Wagyu dish, made with excellent beef, was served raw, completely failing to showcase its rich marbling and texture. The service staff was warm and attentive, but the overall environment did not match the price. The table behind me was very loud, and the strong smell of disinfectant at the entrance was quite off-putting. The dessert was the highlight of the meal—refreshing and beautifully presented. I probably won’t be returning.

Food and wine pairing was spectacular. A little loud, at times, couldn’t hear the descriptions of what the dishes contained.

Second time there. Will be back. Consistent impeccable yet relaxed service, perfect portions, and great flavors. Plates are small and plentiful enough to be sure you’ll have some favorites and not sweat something not suiting you if it happens.

This is the worst tasting menu because the portion is very small. I left the restaurant not feeling satisfied at all. Still feel hungry after the meal. I have tried 4 other Michelin starred restaurants in the past 3 months. I enjoyed them so much and had great dinning experiences with their tasting menu. But Ying Tao is very disappointing not only it's overpriced but the amount of food is so small. Don't waste your money. It's not Chinese food. It's more like Contemporary cuisine. With the money they charged per person, you can easily find hundreds of high quality Chinese restaurants in NYC for the whole family. Overall, I don't recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.

Finally - all those classic Chinese food flavors and ingredients in a very elevated form!!! Our first time so we were not sure what to expect. Had the 8 course tasting menu. Cooking and service well deserving of their Michelin star. Particularly notable for its innovation and variety was the non-alcoholic beverage pairing. Great experience all around.

I was a bit disappointed in the meal. Some dishes were not elevated and some were overpowered by the peppercorn. Overall it was an alright dinner but I was expecting more. The desserts were good. If I had to rate this out of 10 it gets a 6.5.

The mood of the restaurant was so good so by entering the restaurant already give good impression. The food and explanation were overwhelmly awesome and all the utensils, dishes, cups and every presentation were perfectly align with perfection. I really had great time. Thank you.
