Young Joni is James Beard award-winning chef Ann Kim's restaurant located in the Arts District of Northeast Minneapolis. The menu is inspired by wood fire cooking and features an array of globally influenced dishes and signature pizzas. Dining Room reservations are offered for dinner and weekend brunch; walk-ins are available at our bar and community table.

Young Joni is the recipient of 2019's James Beard Award for "Best Chef Midwest"; it has been featured in the New York Times and Vogue, and on Netflix's "Chef's Table: Pizza."

Tucked discreetly behind Young Joni is the back bar, serving full and no-proof craft cocktails and pizzas in a warm, analog setting. Esquire named it one of 2019's Best Bars in America and Eater called it an "Essential Minneapolis Bar." Walk down the alley alongside Young Joni and look for the red light; when the light is on, the back bar is open!

From the OpenTable editors: Exciting, creative pizzas and other wood-fired dishes are the focus at this beloved Northeast Minneapolis restaurant from James Beard Award-winning chef Ann Kim. Like at her other two restaurants, the Chef's Table star leans on her Korean heritage in must-order dishes like the umami mama pizza with three kinds of mushrooms and chewy rice cakes with a four-cheese sauce and gochugaru. Pair it with cocktails that incorporate a lot of Asian ingredients—there's even a formidable spirit-free section on the menu—and get comfortable in the spacious wood-clad interior that includes front-row seats to the pizza-making action.

    Great place to celebrate a birthday with family! Salads and apps were terrific, followed by an excellent assortment of pizza. Tess, our server, was friendly, attentive and made our evening one to remember!

    Everything was excellent! The food, service, drinks. There was a little mix up with our order and the server and manager apologized profusely. I was so impressed with their professionalism!

    Great starters and small plates. As we have Pizza Lola very near our house (same owners), we felt the Pizza options were similar (but they are amazing on their own) Hence, we will stick to Pizza Lola !

    The food was very good and pickle pizza was surprisingly tasty. The wings and cauliflower were delicious but the parisienne pizza, which was recommended by the server, was disappointing. And the sad part was the sauce for the wings was the most talked about at our table due to its positive rating. It was our first time there and now we can say we ate there. I do not need to go back. It was overpriced and not very busy so not sure why people say you have to book out a month in advance. I made my reservation few days prior. I am also just giving my honest opinion, alot of people as you know, rave about this place. I am just not one of them.

    Pizza was fine but there is much better pizza in Minneapolis and it was expensive. Best part was the Photo Booth!
