Wonderful selection of small plates. Favorites were the baba ghannouge and htipiti . The octopus Santorini was surprisingly good. I would strongly recommend the Lamb Baharat. The service was excellent. Reservations are a must.

I love the concept of small plates. This allows you to have a few different menu items that are easily shareable. Each of the items ordered was delicious. I particularly like the Seared Halloumi cheese with pistachios and other fruits. The scallops were particularly sweet. Zaytinya is a great spot. Remember to make an advanced reservation, since they are always crowded.

We are tourists in DC and this was recommended by a local - no regrets! We had an assortment of small plates and got full with 2-3 plates each. Expect to spend some money $$$ but it's worth it! The service was very good and ambience was great, albeit a little loud on a Sunday night.

We had reservations for four at 6 made through Open Table. My husband and I arrived about 10-15 minutes early and checked in. We were a little surprised when the man at the check in said we only had two hours. I thought that since the reservation was for 6, this would mean 8 pm. We were then taken to a table. Fortunately, we kept an eye out for our friends. We saw them waiting at the entrance at 6 and brought them to the table. We were surprised when they told us that the people at the main desk had no record of the reservation. There clearly was a reservation because the check-in man and I had joked about my last name which is somewhat unusual and he asked whether my first name was Sandra. After our friends sat down, we told them about the chef's menu which the server had recommended. The server then appeared and told us that we had to leave by 7:15 and there wasn't enough time for the chef's menu. (it was now about 6:15). We told the server we would be happy to move to another table if the time could be extended. He said he would check with his manager. While he did this (and the time clicked on), we began to discuss whether stay or go somewhere else. The server reappeared to inform us he was still looking for the manager. It was now almost 6:30 so we walked out and had an enjoyable dinner somewhere else. I gave the food three stars because it sounded good. Of course, we didn't have any. Not going there again.

Always a reliable place. Love the new items. Just not the place for conversation.

Food is excellent! The baba ghanoush is remarkable!!!!! We disliked this dish when we lived in Turkey, but loved it here! The wait staff was very attentive without being bothersome. If you lived in any of the places the restaurant’s dishes originate, you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
