There were 3 of us. We were seated in a booth and started our meal with the fish ceviche. Absolutely the best I’ve ever had and so very fresh. One of us had the salmon mango plate. One of us had the enchiladas Guanajuato and I had the enchiladas mole. Delicious! Each of us enjoyed every bite and then we shared a tres leches cake slice. What a nice way to end our meal. A very nice dining experience and I can’t wait to go back and try the strawberry salad that looked so good on the menu. Thank you Zócalo. Yummy.

Where do I begin? I put reservations online for my birthday . After being sat It took over 10 minutes for me to wave down a server just to ask who is the at my table? There was salsa beans and water already at the table. The beans were cold and the water had so much condensation buildup on the cup that it was wet on the table, so who knows how long all that has been there. My food and my daughter‘s food came out cold. My son was super excited to let the waiter know it was mommy’s birthday so he did in her, was I know I read. I was a little taken back from her comment, but no big deal Overall, just very, not happy with this visit. It has never been like this at the restaurant. I would love to say it was probably because they were busy but they weren’t. I am extremely disappointed in this visit and probably will start going to Roseville now. They did take care of the tab, which was absolutely not necessary I just wish the experience was different.

We had 4 in our group. Two of us ordered the Salmon bowl which we have had several times in the past. As usual, it was delicious. Our two guests were pleased with the tacos and pork but after they saw our salmon bowl, they wished they had ordered it instead. Our servers were exceptional, friendly and polite.

I used to favor this location for Happy Hour and special dates like Cinco de Mayo. Not any more. On our last visit, the greeters at the reception desk were warm and friendly, then it all went downhill. 1. As a smaller party of 4, we did not feel welcome; waiter ignored us a few times, was indifferent to our needs. 2. We had requested in advance a quiet spot for our hard of hearing guests and were escorted to a table top on the quieter side of the restaurant. However, the chairs were very uncomfortable, so we asked for a booth when one near us was vacated. We were told it was reserved (although we also had reservations), so we kept asking and were moved to another one near the rear door. It was much too cold. The staff kept saying they would close the door, but never did. We also saw other diners who were already seated at a table top move to the first booth we had requested. So much for reservations. 3. The Cadillac margaritas were good, as were the chips and salsa, but the entrees were bland, and the black beans, which I usually love, tasted like they came straight from a can; no seasoning. We dine together monthly at various local restaurants and all agreed there will be no need for a return visit to Zocalo.

The Open Table reservation system was new to me and a bit confusing but I managed. Dress "code" is anything seems to go. I was overdressed. Menu always has good choices whether you eat meat or are a Veggie. Service was fast & food came out a little too soon and was not real hot but we managed. We were celebrating a 50th wedding anniversary which Zocola provided for us. Good place to celebrate events.

On 2 visits, we ordered guacamole dip and to our dismay, it arrived very late. When it did arrive, we ordered and in approximately 5 minutes, our meal arrived. The point is; no time to enjoy our appetizer…. Btw, the dip was merely so so-
