Food service came out very slow. We waited almost an hour after our entrees were ordered for them to be served, and that only happened after we asked how much longer they’d be. Our food was warm at best. The restaurant was busy, but not overly so and there appeared to be plenty of waitstaff, but even at that our server wasn’t attentive.

Z Tejas feels like a chain restaurant. It used to nave more character. I was hoping for a similar experience/ vibe Z had previously

Service was extremely slow and the food was ok. The appetizers were better than the main dish.

Happy hour service was extremely slow from placing an order to receiving the order, wait time for everything was 20+ minutes. Drink orders were forgotten and had to be removed from the ticket due to extensive wait times. Waitress was nice and apologetic but management should hire more staff for such a busy time of day.

great food every time we go, my favorite appetizer is the tuna, but you can’t go wrong with anything here. great atmosphere especially when they have the fire pits going.

While the food was good and ample, and our server was very attentive, two things bothered me. 1. The size of our table. We sat at a table for four and only three of us dined. We barely had enough room for our drinks, food, and chips. We had to use the empty chair to place our smaller dishes and items we were not using. Each of us commented about how crowded it was and that we had to rearrange the items on the table. 2. My wife ordered a glass of chardonnay which was served warm. Then, we ordered a bottle of chardonnay. One of the guests at our table asked the waiter if it was chilled. The waiter who was holding the bottle said he didn't know if it was chilled, or not. It was not chilled and, in fact, was lukewarm. So, between being crowded and having lukewarm wine, the meal was not a hit. When we lived in Austin, I loved Z'Tejas. We drove an hour to revisit Z'Tejas in Kyle and came away disappointed.

Michael was probably one of the best servers I’ve ever had; the food was amazing and drinks were good. Michael was the cherry on top. Thank you!

Food was excellent and it's a beautiful facility, but they need to add more soft surfaces (artful canvas wall panels or fabric draped across the ceiling) to absorb sound waves. Our server was slow to follow up on our tables needs, but, otherwise we had a great evening. I did note on my reservation that it was a birthday celebration, but nothing was acknowledged by anyone on staff. We didn't expect anything special, but acknowledgement would have been nice for the birthday girl.

First visit. Had 5pm reservation and we were seated immediately. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the food and drink. The dessert was outstanding!
