Ilminster Restaurants

This is the first visit to Pen Mill for me. The experience was first class from start to finish. Despite being a cold, wet and windy evening the welcome fom a group of young enthusiastic staff was very warm. The meat on the carvery was cooked to perfection and the vegetables were tasty and hot. Unusually for me I had pudding upon the recommendation of the waitress which was delicious. I cannot recommend highly enough and I will definitely return.

We had a wonderful 3 courses today at lunchtime - it was all superb with a very warm welcome and friendly efficient staff and service. The roast beef dinner was delicious, everything cooked so well and just when we thought things couldn’t get much better….along comes that big bowl of sticky toffee pudding heaven! We have eaten here a few times over the years when visiting the area and every time has been top notch.

We visited Holm on the back of the Chef's (Nicholas) participation on the Great British Menu. We weren't disappointed. We visited at lunchtime and there was a set menu. Although there is a small selection of starters mains and desserts we were still spoilt for choice. It's a reasonable price at under £30 for three courses of delicious food. The staff are charming. The kitchen is open and exhudes a calm atmosphere. It's nice to thank the team in the kitchen directly. It is also good to see the Chef delivering food and interacting with the diners.

Myself, my daughter and 2 granddaughters had breakfast here. Food was very nice, on the pricer side, but in lovely surroundings. My only complaint is that it was quite chilly in the restaurant, so we ended up eating with our coats on Would return. Definitely glad we visited. .

Lovely. We stayed here before our wedding in 2023 and had a lovely time. Food very good. Went for lunch with friends - extremely good value with 2-for-1 on mains which we didn’t know until we paid. Fish and chips lovely but too much batter and food wait a bit too long. Overall, though, very nice.
