   What I thought would be "crafted" food was more like "faux" crafted. I did the seafood tasting menu for $85 and 5 courses. The first course was really not a course but some seaweed wrapped around some crispy white noodles - it was soggy. It should have been brittle. It came with a teaspoon each of three sauces: aioli, spicy aioli and peanut sauce. Since I had some sauces left, I asked for a couple of more "crackers", but was told it wasn't allowed. Hmm. Then I had a fried ball filled with tuna poke and some rough cabbage with a creamy dressing. The ball was crispy and the chopped raw tuna was good. However, the next course was two "fingers" of deep fried cod, which were okay, but they shouldn't have two fried things in a row, and the batter should have been really crispy rather than limp. Then came the branzino fish which appeared to have been poached and was surrounded by a type of sweet and sour sauce. The branzino was tender and cooked well, although they probably should have removed the skin (for 85$). I was expecting a bit more flavor. Then, I had my choice of dessert (which they didn't tell me until the end - and that I could have had a choice of appetizer as well - too late). I opted for the Vietnamese mocha "flan" which was really like mocha pudding in a ramekin. It had thin pieces of white, crispy meringue on top - not a bad touch. Overall, we had a terrific waitress - Molly - who was very patient with us as we were trying and tasting samples of wine to decide on a bottle. The place is a bit cramped, especially if you go with just two people. Lots of staff coming and going in a rather confined space.

   Great food. Holiday week so very crowded. Not the best table, but everything else was excellent.

   Cozy dim light back room table, pleasant environment and attentive staff. The food was very creative, different preperation and textures than we have experienced! Our family Enjoyed it very much!

   The food was superb and innovative. We will be back. My only concern is that I ordered a glass of raising, and was served a dry white wine--but I knew enough to tell the difference and another glass was brought to me. Not a problem.

   We had a beautiful dinner with friends last night. The staff were attentive and personable. The food was well prepared and tasty. The ambience was conducive to a night of great food and conversation. We were not rushed and felt taken care of. We will return!

   A little disappointed with the dim sum brunch, which we had been looking forward to. Very nice and friendly service; food was good but not memorable. We will be back to Alkeme, but not for the dim sum.

   Our most excellent meal with exquisite food, romantic atmosphere and dinner music.    Charming little restaurant with friendly service and delicious, Asian-fusion cooking. Cocktails are inventive - I had the Pho Sho, which was tart & a little spicy & delicious. Food is creative, with an inventive use of Vietnamese & Taiwanese spices. Many of the dishes are vegan and / or gluten free, & are labeled clearly on the menu. I had the Vietnamese crepe with veggies, which was tender & tasty. Followed with the branzino, which was yummy. Dessert was a clever "napoleon" that was also vegan & gluten free. The wine list is decent & pairs well with the food. So happy to have this funky, fun place in Santa Fe!

    First a prospective diner should know that the staff at Alkeme and the service was excellent. They have some VERY interesting cocktails and it's worth a visit. We did the tasting menu for two, both the meat and seafood 'forward' menus. Some items were good, others missed the mark. The theme seems to be an asian cuisine take on famous multi-cultural 'heritage' dishes (aka home style foods) but it got a little confusing at times. If I dined there again I would order a la carte from the menu and skip the tasting menu.
