   We hadn’t dined at this Roy’s since 2011 and I booked for NYE thinking it would be a special experience. While the service and food were great, the interior of the restaurant is in need of a major overhaul as it lacks the ambiance and decor of a restaurant in Hawaii at this price point. Carpet is stained, tables and chairs look like something from a mid-priced chain restaurant. For these prices, I would probably select a restaurant at one of the hotels in the area (Mantas at the Mauna Kea) simply because of the ambiance.

   We no longer have a Roy's in Tampa, so we make it a point to go when we travel. The food was outstanding and the service great. The restaurant is a little tired and unexciting, compared to all the others we've been to. But, it won't stop us from going back!

   We had accidentally canceled our reservation but they were able to get us in with smiles. The service was amazing and the food was delicious!

   Sort of a chaotic experience food was average, Caesar dressing that was watered down, flat beers, forgotten ordered items, no real apologies for any of it, a brusque waiter, no decor to speak of. Generally a flat experience, and have been to other Roy’s locations that have been outstanding. Will not return.

   This place is top notch. The setting is beautiful. The service was outstanding. The meal was timed out perfectly. The food was fresh and delicious. Honestly the best meal I can remember! It was heaven. The brussel sprout appetizer was amazing! I had the macadamia crusted ono with vegetables and orzo. Highly recommend! My family members had dynamite shrimp and scallops as well as the shrimp and snapper. Everyone loved their dish. We each got a dessert to share. The pineapple upside down cake, chocolate soufflé, and smores cheesecake did not disappoint. If you are in the area and have a special occasion to celebrate or in the mood for a really nice dinner out try Roy’s. It was expensive but well worth the money.

   We were a party of 5 adults who enjoyed a fantastic Christmas dinner. Five different entrees, drinks, and three desserts…all delicious! Roy’s Waikaloa has never disappointed, and this experience was at the top of the list. Awesome!!

    Food and cocktails were just ok. Everything drowning in some variation of teriyaki sauce. Service was clearly overbooked. Not nearly the excellent experience we have had at Roy’s in Pebble Beach and Maui.
