About the restaurant

This charming and intimate restaurant serves a generous and creative fresh market cuisine, cheerfully prepared by chef-owners Marc De Canck and Olivier de Montigny. At La Chronique, the pleasures of the table are always front and centre. But in addition to the delights it serves up, the restaurant is also known for its extensive wine list awarded ''Best Award of Excellence'' by Wine Spectator in 2024, welcoming décor and impeccable service. Little wonder it's been considered "essential eating" in Montreal since 1995.

Best tasting menu we have in a long time. They catered the menu to our restrictions without question. Great team here. Amazing night to celebrate my spouse's 60th birthday. Thank you for the hospitality.

About the restaurant
Les Mômes offers a friendly table where French techniques combine with a love of local products and an eco-responsible logic, thought out by Chef Yoann Van Den Berg. We break the codes of classic gourmet cuisine as we have seen and reviewed it, and we appreciate the attentive service and a warm, yet festive atmosphere, worthy of a dinner party. Don't forget to bring your own wine!

The table d’hôte is the way to go, the braised beef and Wellington are great. The ambience and restaurant are very cute and the food is very fresh since it’s all locally sourced. Great place for an intimate dinner or small group of friends.:)

About the restaurant
Old Montreal restaurant classics in the heart of Little Burgundy. An homage to Charles "Joe-Beef" McKiernan, 19th century innkeeper and Montreal working class hero. A drunken crawl away from the Historic Atwater market. Steaks and seafood.

We had an amazing time. We learned of Joe Beef from an Anthony Bourdain special last year, and in March of this year we learned we were going to move here. We’ve been planning to go here since we arrived in August, and were finally able to make it. It was everything we hoped it would be, and we were able to try some amazing dishes. Staff are extremely attentive, knowledgeable and engaging. Definitely the first of many visits while we live here.

The dishes are beautiful to the eye, the taste is a hit or miss. Service on that night was rushed. We were ignored a lot, it was busy and we were sitting in a corner.

The restaurant is in the lobby of a hotel. I was unaware of that. There are not a lot of tables. We came after looking at the menu and when ordering we were told the foie gras was not available. A BIG disappointment. So I ordered the octopus with chorizo. The presentation was well done, the taste and texture was excellent. I also ordered the duck. Again the presentation was nicely plated and the flavors were beautifully executed, but it was overcooked and tough. My wife had a pear salad that was very tasty and the lamb, which I thought was very gamey, my wife enjoyed it a lot. Also beautifully presented over a bed of couscous. The wine selection was not huge but had enough choices to make us happy. The service was excellent. Very attentive and pleasant.

About the restaurant
Welcome to downtown's favourite Parisian-style brasserie. We serve French comfort food classics with Montreal accents: seafood platters, steak frites, onion soup, duck confit, brunch and more. Our dining room and summer terrace are a social hub where local regulars and travellers from all over the world converge. Eat and drink among friends, new and old.

This was the first time I chose the Pois Penche for a business dinner after I read the reviews. It was also a cold day and we didn't want to walk outside for a long time especially as my visitors were out-of-town. The food was outstanding but the service was slow. One of my guests had his appetizer in front of him for at least 10 minutes if not longer before he got his wine to taste. It took another five minutes until he got a glass with the wine. We were there early and the restaurant got busier later but the waiter seemed to be chatting with his tables a lot. We also like to chat but it's much better with a glass of wine. As I said before the food was very good and I will probably come back but I hope next time the service will be better. Especially with business visitors you expect to have a perfect dinner.
