If you’ve ever enjoyed the 888 dining experience, you know it’s not like your average Bay Area Italian restaurant. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown San Carlos, 888 Ristorante Italiano brings authentic flavors of Italy to Laurel Street. 888 was created from a passion for Italian cuisine that’s deep-rooted in the Maddalena family. Owner Vince Maddalena and Chef Raul learned their craft through growing up in the restaurant industry. Specifically, Maddalena’s, owned by Vince’s dad for over 30 years in Palo Alto. When Vince’s dad closed shop, Vince knew he wanted to continue sharing his passion for food with the public. And so 888 was born! When it comes to cooking, we never take shortcuts. Almost all of our menu is made in-house and we keep things fresh by changing our dishes as seasons come and go. Enjoy our intimate dining experience with a significant other, family and friends or just let us know if you have a large group and we would be happy to accommodate. Your host, Vincenzo Maddalena, would like to welcome you to his restaurant for a unique dining experience of authentic Italian cuisine. Buon Appetito!

We, Hashiri Bettei Kaiseki Aoki, deliver the experience of “kaiseki ryori,” a type of Japanese fine dining which historically developed to be served in the Japanese tea room. The tea room, as a space, symbolizes the home of the Japanese tea ceremony, a simple yet transformative experience offering a pause in time to appreciate the seemingly small experience of sharing tea. As such, we’ve designed both the architecture and the experience, to condense an infinite expanse into an extremely small space.
The space is designed sans distracting elements. Lighting will be subtle and architectural details are clean yet warm. Designed to allow dishes to remain the focal point of the experience, our space represents the endless potential for an intimate dining experience that continues to linger on pallet and in mind well after the end.

I work in a restaurant which is Italian as well, I have never had a bad experience at Trabacco, first class all the way family-owned and run. Everyone should dine there at least once if not more. A definite gem in Alameda

We waited at the bar while our friends came since they were late for our ressies but we enjoyed cocktails that were tasty. I had the ahumarindo which is basically a tamarind margarita. It was so good everyone else ordered it as their second drink. Their pupusas are delicious, we also had the carne asada, crab, apple salad and guacamole. Everything tasty and well presented. We left stuffed and happy. For dessert we had the dessert cake that was like a cheese quesadilla, I didn't taste that cause I can't have gluten but it was gone quickly so clearly good. I did enjoy the sipping chocolate with the chain spices even though it would of been nice if it was a thicker consistency. But that's my personal preference. It was more like spiced cacao water, delicious flavor but I think of sipping chocolate being more creamy.

Ceron Kitchen has lived up to their reputations of the best restaurant in the island of Alameda. On Valentine's Day the owner Vicente Ceron gave individual long stem roses to all the ladies. Classy touch!👏 Chef Juan Jaquez is creative, innovation with some old school techniques. The owner Vincente Ceron is a hands on operator. Our waiter Jesus was professional, courteous and details-oriented. Recommend: calamari fritto, jumbo garlic prawns, Dungeness crab & brokaw avocado, Tomahaw steak for 2. For dessert: Paris brest, creme brulee

Discover San Francisco

Farm-to-table is everywhere now, but it was here first. Just north of San Francisco, the values-forward counties of Marin and Sonoma offer an abundance of sustainably sourced produce. Of course, there’s more to eat in the Bay than leafy greens alone—don’t miss the mainstays like Cioppino (a seafood stew best eaten with thick-cut garlic bread), Mission-style burritos, local oysters and Neapolitan pizza where pizzerias around town war for the ultimate version. The city has long been home to distinct international flavors, so for authentic dim sum, Chinatown tops the charts. The Mission is ablaze with longstanding taquerias, steakhouses and a new wave of artisanal bakeries and coffee houses. And the Fisherman’s Wharf, while touristy, is the spot for Bay caught seafood. From there, we recommend walking to Crissy Field for Golden Gate Bridge gazing and sparkling sunshine.
