Our appetizers and drinks were great, can’t go wrong with the shrimp dynamite and panko crusted ahi. My other halves entree came out way later than mine and when we got his steak, it was bland. Then we ordered dessert that also took longer than it should. The server was very attentive and let us know that she kept checking for our food, it just wasn’t ready. Overall I’d go for a couple pupus and drinks, but would get dinner elsewhere.

Always the best sushi, Sansei never disappoints. We were a little early for our reservation, but they were able to accommodate us. We had a couple substitution requests due a food sensitivity and a very picky toddler, but they made it happen. We visit on every trip to the Big Island, and will continue to do so!

Poor quality sushi for a high price. Don’t order the house saki, it comes in a ridiculous bamboo container.

Our server could have used more training. Some of the sushi we ate was too hot. A warning would have been good.

Very disappointing experience. Food wasn’t good. Sushi rolls were poorly made. One wait person for the entire restaurant. Sansei in Kapalua is a favorite and I was looking forward to visiting this location.

Our food was cold when we got it got to the table. And we had to ask three times for our cocktails to be delivered. We got them after we were 2/3 the way through our dinner. The hamachi maki roll was mediocre - no wasabi or ginger were served either it. The waiter was wonderful.

New chef has added dishes to the classic menu and these do not disappoint. The Hampachi with a chili sauce was delicious and held its own against the classic favorites, the panko encrusted Ahi and dynamite shrimp. The staff is also excellent. You are given a warm greeting at the door from Ginny, the hostess. Our waitress Om ( ? Spelling) was friendly and enthusiastic.
