Went for the brunch menu on the weekend. As usual, the food, service and ambiance were amazing. For dessert, try the aged Gouda cheese….wow, so good!

Service was excellent. Food was good. I had the duck and it was a little tough. My friend had the tiger shrimp risotto. I think she liked it.

Atmosphere is very beautiful. Service was absolutely awesome. The appetizers were great, however..... mains were extremely disappointing and overpriced. The chicken was cooked nice but for the price and what it came with, was pretty bad. The spaghetti squash was just horrible as it was extremely bland and had no sauce nor food it have much toppings to compliment it. Good place for ambiance and service but the food isn't worth it.

Date night - it was a wintry night so restaurant was not that busy which was ok as the vibe was still great and touch of romanticism with the snow falling Food- entrée Lola Rose salad (endive with very cute small roasted ovoid onions ) was fresh and dressing was crisp , nice start Mains- Muscovy duck was excellent , rare with a very nice maraschino reduction w puréed parsnip ( outstanding) this dish is highly recommended. Kudos Chef Baked Halibut over sautéed greens ( rapini or similar ) on bed of dark grains drunken in a tomato sauce. I felt that the tomato sauce was not a good pairing with the halibut , too overpowering and added too much acidity. Our server Faisal was so sweet when the dislike of the dish was presented by asking the right questions and accommodating our request for another dish ( roasted beets) Dessert- crème brûlée with a blueberry compote side was perfect to end this nice meal. Overall rating 4.2/5.0

There were four of us celebrating 2 birthdays and a retirement. We all enjoyed our meals, and our server, Emil, was excellent. The only reason we scored the atmosphere lower is because of a wedding taking place upstairs; they were loud. I hope to return again one day.

We decided to take advantage of the Winterlicious menu at Sassafraz. The choices offered were a good variety and excellent value for money. The service was fantastic and the ambience was lovely. The restaurant is nice enough for a special occasion but unpretentious enough for a casual dinner as well. The cocktails were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend.
