Le Scalini Fedeli a été ouvert en 1995 par le chef et propriétaire Michael Cetrulo, et est rapidement devenu le restaurant italien le mieux noté du New Jersey. Évalué comme excellent par le New York Times en 1996 et meilleur restaurant du New Jersey par le Zagat Survey en 2001, le restaurant figure également dans les 25 meilleurs restaurants italiens en 2007 au New Jersey Monthly. Le menu propose des raviolis aux œufs à la coque et au beurre de truffe noire, du saumon en croûte de pignolis aux artichauts, des agnolottis farcis à la menthe au bouillon de basilique et de tomate, ainsi que des plats-de-côtes braisés au poivron rouge et au glaçage de porto. Aménagé dans un bâtiment historique construit en 1740, le restaurant présente une atmosphère légèrement formelle, avec des plafonds voûtés de style toscan agrémentés de plâtre vénitien. Des tapisseries et des miroirs anciens ornent les murs.

Waiters was very anxious and sparse and rigid. Ambience was nice but old, curtains need to be upgraded to something more modern. Staff need to be more welcoming. It was my husband’s 60th birthday and I requested happy 60th birthday to be on the desert plate but disappointingly they just ignored or forgot to conform. Overall, it was nice but for a 300.00 bill I may not return.

I can't believe thst people can go to such an elegant restaurant and carry on a conversation as loud as a Rolling Stones Concert. The inconsiderateness of these induviduals is disturbing and I can appreciate there is little that management can do about it. But maybe people will read this and think what an absolute idiot they were for acting like a bunch of 4 year olds in public. The restaurant, food staff, etc. are all the absolute best in this entire area.

Wonderful birthday dinner for four of us. The place was welcoming, food was delicious and chairs were comfortable. This Italian Restaurant is the best in the area for sure. Our server Dan was spot on professional with a great attitude.

The food is scrumptious and plated beautifully. There is a lot of variety but not an overwhelming number of choices so a diner is too swamped to come to a decision. Their dining room is warm and inviting and the staff is very well trained and personable to the diners.

Delicious food served with flair. Special Valentine’s Day menu was excellent. Decor is very dated though and I noticed many chairs were scratched and need new pads. Slightly more expensive for the holiday but I don’t mind paying for the high quality of food and service. Maybe a rose for every couple to take home would’ve been a nice touch.

Delicious 5 course pre fixe menu. Started with egg filled raviolo, followed by a shrimp and lobster dish in a garlic wine sauce. Both were amazing. Don't skip dessert either. The chocolate souffle was perfect.

Our evening at Scalini Fedeli in Chatham was phenomenal... The dining room is stunning, with an beautiful high scuplted ceiling, and elegantly set tables inside a farmhouse that is 260 yr. old. The ambience is wonderful for a nice romantic dinner. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful with guiding us throught the prix fixe menu and all of the options. Our waiter, David made sure that we always had anything we needed or wanted and that our wine glasses were always filled. The food was exquisite, each course was more deliicious than he last. My wife and I were extremely satisfied with everything that we ordered and aren't sure which was our favorite since all of the food was spectacular. I highly recommend Scalini Fedeli in Chatham if you are looking for incredidble food and a wonderful dining experience.
