The service was good, but slow. The food was not as expected for the cost of the “5 course meal.” We opted not to bring our leftovers home, because we knew we wouldn’t consume the rest of the meal(s) that we did not care for. The menu hasn’t changed much-even under the new ownership. The atmosphere was the same as it has always been. We happily pay over $100 per person for a meal and service if it’s worth it. It was not worth the money we spent.

We enjoyed a nice, quiet evening with friends. The food was top notch and the service was excellent. We feel they went out of their way to make the evening enjoyable. Highly recommended.

It was just okay. For that kind of money I was expecting to be blown away, and was not. My medium rare filet was well done, the sides were very under cooked. But the French onion soup was Devine. That’s about it.

Our experience was as wonderful as always, and the food was outstanding! I was surprised, however, when we got our check as both of our meals were more than indicated on their menu. I’ve attached a photo from their website showing what the range is for their meals with the highest price being $79. Both of our meals were more than the high-end ($84 & $89). We did not order anything that was a special like the tomahawk chop, ours were just meals on the regular listed menu. We’re thankful for the 20% discount since they had to reschedule us due to a staffing issue on the night we had originally reserved, but still pricing seemed too high. We’re afraid the increased pricing is going to limit our being able to enjoy the Sedgley Place very often which is unfortunate.

I have been going to Sedgley Place since 1984 😳. I have shared the experience with many people over the years. Special occasions, celebrations, & love. Although something’s have change me over time with new owners, new menus, they have ALWAYS stayed true to who they are. Quality of food, friendly staff, and the feeling of both elegance & family. 💚

Ali and the crew did an outstanding job for her first New Years Eve function. Four seating's evenly spaced so that servers and kitchen crew could meet all the needs of the guests. We were lucky to be able to book the last seating at 8:00PM which left us plenty of time to enjoy our lovely four course meal. The choices were great and the assortment of drinks complimented our meal. The portions were above average allowing me to bring home a portion of my scallop dish for lunch on New Years day. The change in color of the dining room lightened up the area. The outside lights were spectacular as you turn the road. Unfortunately we spend the winter at Sugarloaf so we will not be able to return for another lovely meal until the spring. If you have a special occasion this is the place to come. They have a private off room that could accommodate up to 14 + people. Our table was adjacent to this room and we did not hear any noise. Our intimate dinner for two at Sedgley Place was spectacular.

Great options for menu despite limited menus. They have raised prices but still fairly reasonable. Not sure they will be able to raise them much more. New updated decor very nice. Have been coming here for the past 40 + years. A very special place!

I'll keep this review short and sweet. This is by far one of our favorite restaurants in Maine. We recently celebrated a big anniversary with friends and we hadn't been in many years. It exceeded our expectations. Clearly the owner and chef (and staff) care about this establishment as it is evident in all aspects of the dinner. From greeting, service, to the food (exceptional), the evening was special. We cannot wait to go back again. I can't really recommend this place enough. All of the food we had was amazing.
