Sens is French for the word meaning "Sense," which refers to the faculties of sight, sound, smell, and taste that humans perceive this as stimuli originating from the body inside and out.

At Sens we love the process of cooking and its end result, complete happiness. Our inspiration is that of the Mediterranean with its diverse cultures and cuisines. Our goal is not to redefine or reinvent their cuisine but rather to refine and create delicious and beautiful food. We use only the finest local ingredients and exotic spices to elevate our classic and modern techniques.     I recently hosted a business holiday dinner at Sens, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our evening unforgettable. A special thank you to the owner, Kais Bouzidi, whose dedication to excellence is clearly reflected in every detail of the restaurant. Jason, the manager, who was dear to our team, was incredibly attentive and ensured everything flowed seamlessly throughout the night. The wait staff and hostesses were kind, professional, and made everyone feel so welcomed. Chef Vernon and his talented team truly outdid themselves. The food was exceptional—beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and crafted with such care. Each dish added to the warm and festive atmosphere of our evening. Sens is the perfect place for any special occasion, and I am so grateful for the incredible service and care we received. Thank you for making our holiday dinner so memorable. I can’t wait to return!

    Loved the space overlooking the tower at the Embarcadero. Our food was great and we were surprised at the good service despite the restaurant being over crowded with extremely large tables that were so loud and noisy you could not hear or have a nice dinner conversation. We would have stayed longer having coffee and desert, but the noise level drove us out.

    Our server was so attentive and the food was amazing. I definitely would recommend this to anyone who is looking for good Mediterranean food with a beautiful view of the Ferry Building and the embarcadero.

    Sens is a go to for business and pleasure. I can’t count how many times I’ve dined here and each time I bring new diners, they are impressed! The view is equally as amazing as the staff and ambience! I’ll never stop dining here through my visits to SF.

    This is a restaurant that can accommodate any allergies and restrictions. Oscar, our server is a star. He took very good care of us. It was a birthday celebration and cards were placed on the table and a dessert with sparklers was complimentary.

    My review is of a business dinner for 18 people held on a weekday. The restaurant was very accommodating of our group's needs. Service and food were top-notch. Staff were attentive, friendly, proactive. We appreciated being able to check our bags at the host desk. The only negative comment was the noise level (it was a full restaurant that evening and we could only hear the people directly next to/across from us). I would happily take a smaller group back to this restaurant for future events.

    This is a really big restaurant with lots of tables inside and outside. Most of them were empty but the bar was busy. It would have been a nice visit except the music is so loud you can’t hear what your table mates are saying. There is also an issue with the bar since we ordered cocktails and they didn’t arrive until we were halfway through our entrees. The food is fine, nothing special. Tasting good. Our server was great but he was obviously covering too many tables.
