   Pleasantly surprised to have a singer in the background for dinner tonight. Server was professional and prompt. Dining at Serafina is like taking a trip to Italy. The atmosphere has old charm characteristics which I prefer over the stuffy fine dining establishments. The octopus appetizer was really delicious. Finished with a lemon sorbet that was served in a frozen lemon.

   Had dinner Wednesday Nite at Serafina. So happy to see the restaurant was packed. We were happy the weather was lovely, and we were able to eat outside along the water. All breads and pastas are made in house. Zucchini flowers, and eggplant parmesan were wonderful appetizer's that the three of us shared. I had a dinner special which was the snapper and shellfish in a white wine butter sauce over pasta. My son beautiful large shrimps over capellini pasta that was perfectly cooked and well spiced. It was a spicy tomato sauce. My daughter had the lobster crab ravioli in a tomato cream sauce. She loved it. The food is great, but a reservation is highly suggested.

   My wife and I had dinner last night in the most beautiful setting on the intercoastal waterway in Fort Lauderdale, Florida at Serafina’s. The dinner was the same for both of us, salmon limone and it was one of the most delicious preparations like this, that we’ve ever had. We also had some Chianti to quench our thirst. This Italian restaurant is a neighborhood gem!

   First time here. Our waitress was amazing as she let us enjoy a glass of wine before we ordered and allowed us to have a leisurely dinner. Food was fabulous. Entrees are definitely shareable although we did not. The Cacio de Pepe was outstanding. The view would be spectacular if it hadn’t been raining. Will return next time we are in Fort Lauderdale.

   We are a couple that lives on the road, traveling in a large motorcoach from one coast to another sampling this nations finest cuisine. We always approach each venue with an open mind with regard to all the important aspects of our time spent there and of course the meal which is always 60% of the experience. We found that this establishment relies heavily upon the location as a draw and falls short on several key elements. Full disclosure; we were the first Guests to arrive at 5:00 due to a scheduling issue so we may have caught the staff a bit off guard, even though we had a reservation. Keep in mind this is supposed to be a “high end” Italian restaurant so when we were told the bar had no sparkling water I was very surprised. When trying any Italian restaurant I always stick to the old school items that should surely be their best, right? Well, not here…the Caprese was served with tomatoes that were not ripe with very little glaze. The special appetizer of Squash Flowers was excellent in that (their version) it had a wonderful creamy Ricotta stuffed inside. We moved on to the Bolognese with wide egg noodles instead of the conventional Rigatoni: the substitution was fine however the sauce was flat, not the proper meat mixture and very little punch that this simple dish would have. The Shrimp Fra Diavolo was far too spicy with a bit too much sauce. Skipped coffee and dessert (why push it). For the cost ($145.00 before tip) one would be expected to be served a much more elevated meal in a “tighter” fashion. I have so much more to add but I don’t want to make any more negative comments. Go and judge for yourself…you’ve been warned!

   We had to wait a little while, even though we had a reservation, but it was well worth the wait. Food was outstanding, service was very good and it was nice to sit by the water and the boats.

   The bursts was excellent. Unfortunately, my main course, pasta w bolognese was disappointing. It was served cold and the meat sauce was very old and bitter. I barely touched it. I think/hope my guest liked her veal Marsala.

    Not real Italian food, just an American version. Food is fresh. Service excellent and cordial. Definitely need a complete renovation in and out, kind of dirty place.
