Bugsy Siegel’s lust for extravagance set the scene for modern-day Las Vegas. Paying homage to Siegel and his inner circle of original mobsters, El Cortez Hotel & Casino presents food with attitude at the morning, noon and night dining concept, Siegel’s 1941. Siegel’s 1941 offers extensive menus filled with modern twists on classic American standards.

Open 24 hours. Located in downtown Las Vegas.

The website for Siegel's, which is inside the El Cortez casino, had advertised that they were having a Corned Beef and Cabbage special starting March 1st through March 17th. My father very much enjoys a good corned beef, so on March 5th we headed to Siegel's for the special. We were seated and noticed no indication of the special, so we asked the waiter who had no idea whatsoever that this special existed and that it would probably be later in the month. We pointed out that the website was advertising that they had it starting the 1st, and it was now the 5th, so he went back to the kitchen to ask. A few minutes later he came back and said the cooks told him they'd have it tomorrow. Ok...so they're going to start it on a Thursday, almost a full week later than advertised now? Made no sense. So we left as that was what my father was really looking forward to. As Vegas locals we go out of our way when we go downtown or to the strip, we went specifically for this special and were treated to what has unfortunately become typical Vegas hospitality. This will probably be the last time I bother going to this restaurant or the El Cortez in general. They lost a customer for good.

Hate to say it, this place fell short of expectations and hype. Service was atrocious and I felt like we were an inconvenience. Server slammed glasses and plates on the table and had zero personality/warmth. I also don’t appreciate the snide remarks from the hostess stand about the gratuity amount we left as we walked out the door. We won’t be back.

Food was definitely subpar all three times we are there. They refused to take back a burger that was raw when I asked for medium . They said I took two bites out of it. That’s where the meat went to raw. They would not take it off the bill so I stiffed the server no tip. It was the cooks fault and server gets screwed. I will not eat there again. We all had the Southwestern chicken sandwich: it only had a piece of cheese and two soft strips of bacon on it. It was awful. Adam ……get that kitchen right……find a manager that can serve good meals…….geeeeez Robert Young

The food was bland and over cooked we had lobster that was so hard and rubbery which didn’t even come with butter. We were ignored for most of our meal. When we talked to a manager we’re were promised a comp then told no. It was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.

The avocado blt sandwich comes cut. One side had no avocado the other side had a half inch sliver. When sever was informed and shown the sandwich. She didn't bring more avocado or adjust bill. Sandwich is $23 dollars. The bottle beer is room temperature. The seating host was texting on his phone while we waited to give our name for reservation and be seated. Very over priced for food and service.

Really decent off strip place with decent portions and a bit of a classic Vegas feel, great AuJus with the prime rib. Would do again. Nice they were open mid afternoon.

Extremely smoky. Sat immediately but a server never came so we go up and left. Only a few tables there at 6pm on a Saturday night.
