Soby’s New South Cuisine is an eclectic blend of contemporary continental cuisine infused with traditional Southern ingredients, transforming old favorites into something fresh and new. The restaurant is located in the heart of downtown Greenville, in a renovated cotton mill built in the 1800s. The atmosphere is warm and energetic and the staff is well-trained to provide a fantastic dining experience for all of our guests. In addition, the wine list offers more than 500 selections and is a Wine Spectator Magazine award-winner regular.

Our server was exceptional. We were fascinated by the pommes Anna that came with my filet, and it was so good! Will definitely choose that again!

Our reservation was for two at 6pm, and we were seated just a few minutes after that, no problem and it was already very busy. Problem was we ordered a split salad and two entrees, and by 7 it was clear the salad and likely the entrees were lost or never entered, as we watched everyone around us that came in around the same time and some afterwards get food. Our server was Chloe who was incredible and told us there was a mistake, which we understood. She was attentive and professional, and a real bright spot given her unfortunately having to apologize, etc., and when we did get our food of course it was excellent, but honestly it had been more than an hour so it did take a little away from the experience. By the time we got our entrees around 7:25(we told them don’t bother with the salad since it had been more than an hour) honestly we were kind of just ready to go. Overall everything was great but hard to overcome what should have been a better experience relative frankly to the cost. Also, we actually ordered the salad with our initial drink order, and ordered our food as soon as our first drink was delivered just so there is no confusion. Lastly, again Chloe was an excellent server and would recommend her if she is available!

Fried flounder feature was delicious! Southern style orzo was creamy and was also very good. The pinecone dessert was amazing and looked incredible.

Soby’s is our favorite downtown Greenville restaurant. Love the food, the servers, the ambiance. We went three times in Nov., and each time the food came to our table in need of being heated up a little bit. Not a big issue, but one that could be improved on. Had not experienced that in past years.

Had great expectations but sadly disappointed. Server was fine, did his job and was not intrusive. However, food left a lot to be desired. Started with Mussels, bland... little if any flavor. Wife had Seared Scallops, way too salty and barely seared. Pureed carrots where cold. I had the Beef Short Rib... think it must have been braised for days as it was truly just meat mush. Hoped for a memorable meal but left fairly sure that Soby's won't be get any future visits. Hard to understand why so many rave reviews are found online.

Wonderful personal service with special attention to our birthday guy! Amelia was over the top friendly and made us all feel special! Loved the fireplace this time of year! Can't wait to go back!

WE celebrated birthdays with dinner at Soby's last night. Everything was special, delicious and fabulous. From the first appetizer to the last dessert, we enjoyed every bite. The staff was knowledgeable, accommodating and pleasant. Thanks for a great evening with family!
