Gari is an essential sushi restaurant in New York. Whether you want an elevated omakase or supremely high quality a la carte sushi, they are the first and only option! Forget the gimmicky pop up and overly expensive omakases in the city!

Service was amazing right off the bat, food came like a snap and the overall feel of the place was just the right mood. Not to also mention the servers always had a bright smile!

Extraordinary food - not your usual sushi place. You can stick to the typical or explore more adventurous territory with subtle finishes and flavor combinations with expert guidance from the staff. Either way, everything is delicious and top drawer. The food is definitely not inexpensive but the quality ingredients and artful creativity make this place stand out as something truly remarkable. Totally worth the price if you're looking for something special.

The food was tasty, fresh and clearly prepared by a team that really knows what they were doing. Moreover, the service was wonderful and the place was spotless and welcoming. The tempura vegetables were spectacular and I would return just for that single dish. My only criticism was the noise level and overall value. In addition to the tempura, we ordered a number of maki rolls as well as the sashimi dinner which were both very good, but not mind-blowing. We arrived early (6:30) on a Thursday and it was pretty quiet. However, by 7:45, the place was buzzing and the place became very loud. Not my favorite situation for a business dinner.

Certainly not worth the value. Fish was pre cut and omakasi was very unimpressive. Had $200 bottle of wine , which retails for $40(I understand that) also had besides the $180 omakasi, some individual pieces which ranged in the order of $10 per piece. Our bill with tax for two was in excess of $800 and not a single free taste of anything. As a matter of actually charged me 50 cents for extra scallions on a yellowtail scallion roll. Never again. Only left 15% tip because my wife made me! BTW. Sat at sushi bar with a view into back kitchen where I was able to see a 5 gallon container os something either the word”caustic” written on it besides a industrial size can of Ajax Really wet my appetite
