Opened in June 1922, The Tam O'Shanter boasts a rich, storied history and warm, inviting atmosphere. We’re proud to be in our 10th decade of continuous service. We originally considered it a quiet pastoral road stop, since Los Feliz Boulevard was just an unpaved country lane traversed by rabbits and rabbit hunters, in that order.
Everything changed when Walt Disney and his animators, set designers, and crews began trekking out between takes for a bite and a refreshment. So often, in fact, that the Tam was once dubbed “The Studio Commissary.”

We were excited to go to Tam O Shatner around the holidays to experience the festive ambience. Instead we got sent to the wayyyy back room with no one there. The food was overly salted overall. The chicken was dry. On our way out of the restaurant we saw the other rooms festive and fun, and it felt targeted that we weren’t included in the festivities. Went home with a heavy heart.

It took them a hour to serve the meal. Probably won't come back even though the food was decent.

Our order was incorrect in reference to how we each wanted our meat cooked. Waitress forgot our bread , then when she did bring our bread the bread was not fully baked. Not the same Tam’s that we came to over 10 ago. Celebrating a milestone 70th Very disappointed

Every holiday season, the Tam hosts several "dinner theater" events featuring a performance of Dickens' Christmas Carol. Per usual, the food was excellent, the performers were delightful, and the event in general was festive and fun! Always a delightful treat for the holidays!

The Annual Dickens’s Christmas Carol Celebration! We look forward to this event every year and it did not disappoint. The troupe of players performed the iconic play while we were being served a delicious luncheon of prime rib, goose or salmon, all were delicious. Selected diners were asked to participate as dancers or cast. My son-in-law (6’ 1” ) was a delightful Tiny Tim. This officially starts our Holiday Season.

The filet I had was incredible...the fish and chips my husband had were soggy, one of the prime rib plates was served way too rare when medium rare was ordered but all in all most (party of 8) enjoyed their dinner. The appetizers were very good..Scotch rarebit, brisket burnt ends and poutine were all very good. We had to pour our own wine as our waitress was too busy. I understand they were busy but a restaurant should not spread their servers too thin. Desserts were very good also...chocolate souffle, sticky pudding, and trifle.
