   Delicious food here at the first restaurant in the Lawry’s chain. It’s our neighborhood pub, with the atmosphere of pubs in the UK.

   We were transported to the Scottish countryside as we walked to our table. The fireplaces were burning, the hand hewn beams and carved paneling were a visual treat, and the quartet of carolers completed the magic of our evening. Our servers took excellent care of our needs, and our dinner was delicious.

   Celebrated birthday lunch today at our traditional favorite restaurant. Enjoyed Brisket sandwich on an onion roll w/ peanut coleslaw & beets... Very lean & delicious! Chardonney recommended by our server. Good choice! Comfortable festive ambiance, excellent service. Shared a CCBrown chocolate ice cream sundae... so yummy :>)

   We have been patrons of Tam O’Shanter for many years, and have made a December dinner with my mother and her husband our annual Christmas tradition.  We love the Christmas carolers, and that never disappoints. However, today’s service was abysmal. We were seated outside near the fireplace, and it was not particularly crowded. However, not only did I have to ask three times for water service, but the delivery of our food was so terrible as to be absurd. We were a party of 5, and the food came out in three rounds. It was “announced”, as in “burnt ends” and just plopped down at the nearest spot. Having waited tables for many years in my youth, I know that the server writes the dishes down in a specific order so that at delivery it can be placed in front of the appropriate party.  These male servers/expediters, at least two of whom did not appear to be in any sort of uniform, just dropped the plates hastily and took off. Zero attempt was made to place the dish. It was frankly quite weird in its sloppy casualness. It also took quite a bit of time for our table to be cleared, so we sat there with a table piled full of empty, dirty dishes. This is such a far cry from the old days, and it has been on a steady and sure decline for a while (last year was pretty disappointing, but it was busy and I hoped it was a one-off) but this evening made us consider starting a new family tradition.  So sad.
