    The Captain’s Room in Tarpon Bay offers a highly sought after, semi private dining experience. Guests holding the 5:30 PM reservation will have access to the table until 7:30 PM, at which point it will be prepared for the 8:00 PM seating. For guests wishing to enjoy the Captain’s Table for the entire evening, a minimum F&B expenditure of $1,000, exclusive of tax and gratuity, is required. This secures exclusive access to the table for the duration of the evening, with reservation times to be determined by the guest. Please call the restaurant if you would like to reserve the table for the entire evening. An automatic gratuity of 20% will be added to each check.

    Seemed like cruise ship dining. $80 for crab legs that were fishy. Snapper was dry and clearly prepared early. Pretty setting, but would not recommend Maybe go for happy hour and drinks.

    We used to enjoy dining at Tarpon Bay. It was unexpectedly bad dining experience today. Service was ok, but food was quite bad. I ordered snapper Diablo. It was very poorly prepared. I regret inviting our guests to this restaurant. Not sure if it was some kind of a fluke in the kitchen or it is a new norm. I definitely will stop recommending this place to my friends.

    Tarpon Bay is one of our favorites. Just 2 miles from the house. Food, service, atmosphere and associates all equally exemplary!!! Never disappointed! Tonight was Lobster Mac N Cheese! So good!!!

    The management HAS to return the screens! The room was WAY too loud. I don’t blame the large party: they were just having a good time. But the windows, coupled with wood throughput, just keeps the noise inside. We have dined at Tarpon for 12 years, so we know whereof we speak.

    All the food was very good. The oysters were cold and clean. The fish was fresh and tasty. Both orders were slightly overcooked and my fish wasn’t hot but very tasty. Ambience was clean with a nautical theme. Stir fried eggplant was delicious. Squash blossoms were very tasty with a thick batter coating and plentiful cheese filling. I do not eat carbs so the server, Jason, gladly substituted a vegetable for the rice that came with the dish. He was great, as was the rest of the serving crew. Definitely coming back.

    Overpriced for a mediocre dining experience. Drinks are very expensive and not prepared with care, rose wine was offered luke warm, wine list includes many selections that are not available. Portions are generous but dishes are not well seasoned nor presented nicely. Overall, disappointing for what they advertise to be.

    It started by us getting to the restaurant 45 minutes early, which is no big deal, so we headed to the bar. The bartender was slow to take our order, then when we finally got the order, he asked us if we wanted to have appetizers, to which we said yes. 15 minutes later he came back to ask us what we wanted, and by then we had 15 more minutes to go before our reservation so we just decided to wait. Everything proceeded as normal and we had a very nice waiter named Josh. Ordered our food and it came out within a timely manner, my wife ordered the scallops and I ordered the snapper fillet. My snapper was so undercooked that you couldn’t cut through the meat without forcefully trying to cut. I notify the waiter and he apologized profusely and said he would be right back with a fresh entrée. He came back and delivered a new entrée and I cut through the middle of the fillet again and it was still not cooked…. Worse than the first one! My wife’s entrée looks delicious so I ordered the scallops and they were fine. At no point during the evening in which I was given two undercooked entrées, did I ever see a manager! Nobody came over to check on me to apologize or to do anything other than the waiter. Then when I got the $200 bill, there was no credit for the meal that I had to send back twice, which I had to notify the waiter that the bill was wrong. Additionally, they charged me for the scallops which I thought was an egregious slap in the face, considering the debacle of a dining experience that it had been so far.
