Everything was fine- just definitely not for the amount of money we spent. I don’t recommend the Pre fixed Christmas dinner at all. Just cost way too much for what you get.

Perhaps I went in expecting too much but for two members of my party to order the same thing and the items come out completely different - down yo color taste and consistency was unacceptable.

We went to the Terrace room for the Christmas 4-course, pre fixe dinner. It was very expensive and over priced for what you got (bill for two was $300 without drinks; another $82 for 4 drinks). The food was good but not great. The portions were small. I was served the wrong soup and it had to be returned. The onion soup was so heavily salted that it couldn’t be finished by my dining partner. The print on the menus was so light it was really hard to read (the two tables next to us also had trouble). On the positive side, the room and atmosphere were beautiful. We were excited to have Christmas dinner in this historic and beautiful inn but were very disappointed in the experience.

Food was ok. Price was ridiculous. $80 per person for brunch, they had the nerve to charge $6 for a cup of coffee. The Inn certainly isn’t what it used to be. Will never return.

Everyone in our party enjoyed their meal. The salmon was extraordinary as were the Dover scallops.

The Williamsburg Inn used to be an exceptionally distinguished place to dine. Over the years it has kept pace with the eroding elegance of its previously luxurious peer establishments. From the receptionist who while seating us openly complained to another employee about a guest, to the folksy approach of our very attentive server. No dress code exists as a fellow customer came in dressed in his hunting camo outfit complete with his ball cap which remained on the entire time. Sadly he wasn’t the exception as many other were wearing a lot of denim and various hats. The food was still excellent as were the cocktails. The servers were observant but slightly overworked and rushed. We didn’t have dessert. It’s now like other establishments who have beat their previously exquisite brand into a mass market appeal for its patrons who are just happy to tell their friends they ate their as to enjoy the experience.

The service was average. We were the last reservation and felt very rushed to finish, by the servers.

The service is outstanding and the menu offers choices for everyone, including vegan diners. The menu was also seasonally directed, with many choices that were upgraded comfort foods. Even the burger options add something extra to make them a cut above. Try the potpie, burger or either salmon option.
