While the majority of the food was excellent, the service really let the experience down. Our server was inattentive, forgetting our side order and bringing the wrong drink. The French Toast was also a bit of a letdown, only being okay.

Love The Asbury! We were there for brunch. Food was really good… especially the beignets! Perfectly seasoned and warm! The best thing isn’t the food… it’s Nikki, waitstaff extraordinaire! Her bright, bubbly personality, and her ability to keep many balls in the air at one time is amazing!! She is certainly a credit to the restaurant! The only thing I will note about ambience is that it’s a bit cold in the restaurant. That is partially from the street door opening on cold days without a vestibule to block the incoming air. And that’s because it’s a historic property. But the heat could’ve been turned up a bit to counteract that. Despite the temperature, it was another lovely visit to the Asbury!

Although the service was okay, the overall value for the experience was terrible. There are so many great places to go in Charlotte, I wouldn't go here. The food was priced comparable to McCormick & Schmidt, specifically the salmon dish, but it was clear it was all from frozen. Unfortunately the broccoli that comes with the salmon was a dead giveaway that it was standard frozen broccoli cuts. Which is find when I make it for my kids for dinner, but not what I expect from a $30 meal, when you could definitely get a better meal elsewhere. Amongst the table we also got an old fashioned that wasn't great, and the burger wasn't great either. Sometimes a bad situation is a great bonding experience so we had a good time but it was because we couldn't believe how bad it was compared to our other Charlotte meal experiences. Now I will say, I'm not sure why the waitress brought out a pitcher of ginger ale when just two people ordered ginger ale, but the ginger ale was 10/10. The pitcher was weird, but the ginger ale was the best part of the meal.

Well-prepared food at a decent price. We did the prix-fixe theater menu. Had enough choice. Also enjoyed the creative cocktail selection. Servers were amazing!

We had a most unfortunate experience at The Asbury on Thanksgiving Day. Took out of town family (8 of us) for Thanksgiving Dinner. Had a 5:00 reservation, thinking it was an ‘early’ reservation with other seatings to follow. Besides a couple of others, who left almost immediately, we were ‘the only patrons’ in the place and ALL of our food arrived cold - not even warm! Try cold mashed potatoes and cold gravy, etc. at Thanksgiving. While we dined, the rest of the staff were cleaning up and preparing all the tables for the next morning guests. We felt uncomfortable, and very disappointed in our food starters and main menus; for nothing was hot! Truly a Thanksgiving Dinner we shall never forget and never do a ‘repeat’. The food absolutely paled compared to the hefty bill! Joanne H

Cute place, friendly staff but this was the most underwhelming Thanksgiving dinner I have ever eaten. We were so excited by the menu but the execution….lots of poorly prepared dishes served at room temperature. A small serving of turkey with congealed gravy on top, “mashed potatoes “ that were cold whole potatoes right out of the fridge, asparagus that were uncooked (not lightly cooked, just raw). It was like the chef took the night off.

Thanksgiving dinner was awful. Appetizers were not freshly prepared and were brought to the table before drinks were ordered. Entrees and side dishes were all served cold. Portions were small which in the end was a good thing since food was not good. Restaurant should not have served a Thanksgiving meal if they weren’t prepared to do a good job.

Our thanksgiving meal was pretty mediocre, definitely not as good as past years. The appetizers were sweet rather than savory except for the odd crusted deviled egg. Turkey was overcooked, green beans’ sauce thick & tasteless, and rice flat tasting. The cheesecake was good!
