The Bistro is located on the grounds of the Biltmore Estate, right next door to Biltmore's award-winning winery. Please be aware that you must have a valid paid estate admission ticket, be staying at Inn on Biltmore Estate or Village Hotel, or be a Biltmore Annual Passholder to dine on property. Please note that due to limited seating availability we are unable to accept reservations for our patio. All patio seating is assigned on a first come first served basis.

The Bistro features contemporary American fare. Fresh, seasonal, and local ingredients are the focus on the dinner menu, which features premium steaks, impeccable mountain trout and seafood, poultry and lamb. Gardens on the estate produce a wide array of vegetables and fruits throughout the seasons, and our extensive pasture lands provide all-natural, hormone-free Black Angus beef and lamb.

Food was underwhelming for a bistro. Steak was fatty and over salted. Accompaniments were lacking.

Certainly any restaurant at the Biltmore estate is going to be expensive but at over $60 for a steak, while it was good, the scant amount of brussels sprouts that accompanied the meal was sad. Additionally, they charged $14 for a bowl of tomato basil soup and couldn’t even bother to add a piece of bread or croutons on it. Because they were out of chicken breast, which was a dietary necessity for one of us, soup was the only option. It was tasty but again for $14. You would think they could add something that would give it a little substance. Was it worth over $80? No! and we literally went home hungry. The food was very tasty and I guess again, being a destination restaurant not shocking that they’re charging way too much for too little food. And, we thought the bistro was supposed to be the lesser restaurant compared to the end, but I feel like our cost was just as much as had we gone to the Inn dining room; I think that paying this for an elevated experience like the end could possibly have been worth it, but since I couldn’t get anyone at the end to call me back or contact me after leaving two messages, we had to give up and go to the bistro, which didn’t even end up having the items that I had previously seen on the menu that would have worked for my dietary restrictions. It was kind of a bust for our 30th anniversary!!

This visit was our best. We needed to add to our guest list and I wasn’t able to do so through OpenTable. However, I sent a message through OpenTable to the restaurant and someone promptly and graciously responded that they had made the change for me. The food was excellent across the board. Our server had perfect timing and was both responsive when needed and patient when not.

Another fantastic meal at the Bistro. Salads, Caesar and estate greens were perfectly dressed and presented. French onion soup was deemed delicious but a tad sweet for the eater. Entrees. My husband got the pork chop. I tried it and it was extremely tender and delicious. Two of us got the hanger steak special with frites. The chimicurri sauce was perfect, steak cooked as ordered and the frites were hot and crisp. Another delicious entree Dessert. Two of us got decaf espresso which was perfectly prepared and presented with lemon slice and a little sugar. One person got the Paris Brest. The choux was incredible , filling delicious, everything they were hoping for and more Our server has been with them for 20 years and his experience showed. We were not rushed, table kept cleared as needed, questions about the food did not phase him and he answered accurately. We did not tell anyone it was a birthday celebration. But as celebrations and meals go this was on top of our list for experiences. And a Sunday in January was a nice treat as the restaurant wasn’t overly busy. So the noise level allowed good conversations.
