   Noisy, overcrowded, average food. Service was ok but we were ignored on arrival and when I complained about the table, the waitress agreed with me that it was the worst table they had, in the middle of the restaurant, right in front of the fire. Obviously we were squeezed in and constantly disturbed by staff and customers alike. Unlikely to return.

   Always have a lovely experience and the food is great. Due to a busy Sunday, the service wasn’t as quick as usual but overall we were happy.

   I booked this venue and called ahead to request a 'Happy Birthday' message on the dessert for my son and to inquire about accessibility. I was assured both were possible. Upon arrival, we entered through the back, which was mostly wheelchair accessible until we reached the pub door. Unfortunately, the entrance itself wasn’t wheelchair-friendly, and the area was quite crowded. Thankfully, a kind customer assisted us over the small step. Inside, the pub's layout proved to be quite challenging for wheelchair users. The narrow pathways and tightly packed tables made navigation difficult. There was also another step leading to the back of the restaurant. The venue lacked disabled toilets, and the men's restroom was too small to accommodate a wheelchair comfortably. Accessing the front entrance also involved another small step, which might be manageable for a lighter wheelchair user, but not for someone taller or heavier, such as a 6'1" man. Additionally, the back bench seating was uncomfortable and awkwardly higher than the chairs provided. On the positive side, the staff were efficient, friendly, and served our food promptly. The quality of the food was average, though not unpleasant. The mushrooms in Stilton sauce could use some improvement, as the dish resembled mushroom soup poured over soggy bread—placing the bread on the side instead might help. The steaks were not rested properly, which caused them to bleed onto the other items on the plate. Most other dishes were of acceptable quality, but the standout option was definitely the pies. They looked delicious, and if you're a fan of pie with mash or chips, this is the place to be. I’d highly recommend choosing the pie! Desserts were enjoyable, though the lack of a birthday message on my son’s dessert, despite my earlier request, was disappointing. Overall, the food was reasonably priced, and the experience was pleasant enough. While it wasn’t extraordinary, it wasn’t bad either—a nice spot to eat with some room f
