    It's a great place to go; I've enjoyed every time I've taken people there. However, this visit stuck out as a bit odd to me, which accounts for the lower ratings. Two things that account for lower ratings. First, we had to ask for the bread that was offered. We were told that bread may be provided, if asked, based on where we were seated--near the bar. Apparently, this contrasts with the dining room, where bread is offered without asking for it. This was the first oddity that appeared arbitrary--I was eating, albeit near the bar. The difference between the bar area and the dining room is lost on me. That shouldn't make a difference. Moreover, I visited the Capital Grill in January last month and was offered bread without asking for it. I was seated in the same area. That was the first item that stuck with me. The second was when the bill came. I was dining with a friend, and we wanted to split the checks. Per a management policy, we were told that splitting the checks was not allowed. Our server explained that she would need permission to split our checks. That didn't take long, but it seemed grossly inefficient and trivial to please the customer. This all comes down to me: restaurants need to realize that we are no longer on the COVID footing. I am the customer. Just like the servers and staff at any restaurant are working hard themselves, I worked hard as well, and the customer's conveniences need to be paramount. Bring the bread you bring to everyone, regardless of where they are seated. Split the checks if that's what the customer wants. It's not hard.

    Daniel our server was amazing !!!! He talked about all the special asked for allergies & also made some good recommendations I will definitely be back

    It was our firts time visiting DC and we decided to have dinner at the Capital based on other open table reviews. They did not dissapointed us. Everything about this restaurant was great. Our server Akim made sure that we had an incredible experience. They have a huge and great wine list. Food was great, the steak term was perfect and dessert was delicious. The noise was moderate which we loved because we were able to actually have a conversation without yelling to each other. Definitely going back whenever we visit DC again.

    We had a wonderful time. Our waiter was on point and the food was excellent. Anytime l go to a Capital Grill l have no complaints.

    Wayne is the best waiter in DC. You can never go wrong with this restaurant. Absolutely first class.

    We introduced our friends, who are new to the area, to the best restaurant in Washington, DC. The Valet parking guys greeted us warmly. The hostess stand was friendly and welcoming. Server Wayne did a phenomenal job. He was great with wine selection. Wayne also did a fantastic job in explaining some of the unique items on the menu, and some of the more popular items to our friends. The Calamari was delicious. Our salads were fresh, crisp, and tasty. My bone-in fillet was sensational. My wife and our friends loved their entrees too. The sides were a wonderful compliment to our main courses. We had a great night! We cannot wait to return to The Capital Grille. Our thanks to all who made it a really special evening.

    First time at this location. Wonderful meal and service for our table of four. Quite pricey as expected. Will remember that I am never disappointed at a Capital Grille.

    Capital Grille has been a favorite of mine for years but I am noticing a drop in quality of food as of late. Furthermore, I recently ordered Halibut and was brought out Sea Bass. I felt like they served it figuring I wouldn’t notice. Experiences like that are not forgotten by customers.
