   I was initially disappointed with the choice of main courses but very happy with my 2 starters. The salmon and gruyère croquettes were perfect. The Scotch egg was very good - perhaps a little more seasoning would have helped. My partner's french onion soup was very good and his cod was 'excellent'

   Excellent food and service, we enjoyed it so much we went back on our second evening. The food was excellent quality and generous portions and was so tasty. The Sunday roast was the best I’ve ever had when eating out. We would highly recommend but you must book ahead.

   A beautiful setting next to the glorious river Teme. Lovely clean quiet bedrooms with bathroom, t.v. Coffee machine/tea balcony that looks over the river. Restaurant is looking it over the river that serves good tasty food and delicious wine. I would return here time and time again. Great value and a great service. Central to lovely Ludlow. Fantastic

   An exceptional hotel Room was excellent Service was excellent Good was excellent You could ask for a better location Stunning location friendly staff highly highly recommended and we have stayed in 5star plus hotels around the world and for all the right reasons this is an exceptional hotel

   Whilst my starter was OK my main meal of lamb cutlets was unpleasant. The lamb was almost raw and the fat hadn't even been seared. I like pink or rare lamb but not as undercooked as that was. The sauce that was with the lamb was cloying and overly strong and the dauphinoise potatoes were also undercooked. I stupidly ate most of it, but did tell the staff of my concerns. I didn't really get the feeling that anyone was that bothered. I know about food and I know this meal was not up to the standard I expected .

   A memorable reunion lunch with old friends on a super spring day in Ludlow. The excellent food, discrete and nicely timed service was very good. The view from the dining room is one of the best we have experienced across the UK and europe!

    None of us had been to The Charlton Arms before but it had been recommended to us by various friends and we had seen it many times - always thinking a lovely place to go for a meal. There were six of us ranging from 29 to 86 and .....we ALL had a wonderful time. The venue is beautiful and we had a great table right in the window overlooking the river. There is enough space between tables so that everyone feels 'private' enough but still connected to the restaurant as a whole. We had three courses - EVERY meal and every course was incredibly tasty, well presented and portions were great - even satisfying our 29 year old son who can eat for England and.....Wales!! Service was excellent with both our waitresses being warm, kind and welcoming. We would highly recommend the Charlton Arms for a excellent cuisine (the Goulash was wonderfully prepared by the Hungarian chef) wonderful ambience and good value for money.
