BEHIND EVERY GREAT SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IS A WAREHOUSE STOCKED WITH FRESH SEAFOOD.
The Fishery Restaurant & Market is located just a few blocks from the ocean in North Pacific Beach.
The restaurant menu reflects ‘coastal cuisine’ with a simple yet serious focus on the best our coastal fisheries and local farms have to offer. The passion that drives Chef Mike Reidy is evidenced by flavors that can only be achieved using ingredients at their peak of seasonality and freshness.
The Fishery was awarded the prestigious Award of Excellence for its Wine List from Wine Spectator in 2018- Present. Our wine list is inspired by the great wines of Europe and their American counterparts and we strive to showcase real, natural, food friendly-wines with a sense of place.

The Fishery Market showcases fresh fish, prepared seafood, salads, sauces and marinades.

Cute neighborhood spot. We got the oysters and miso black cod as appetizers. For the mains, my husband and I shared the rock crab fettuccine and diver scallops. Thought the miso baked cod was the best dish. The crab fettuccine was a bit salty. Diver scallops were tasty but only came with 3 scallops and was not filling.

No restaurant disappointed us on our trip to SD, but this was probably our all around favorite.

The food was delicious—perfectly cooked and truly gourmet. The service was swift and attentive, and our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful with our food selection. The restaurant is clearly a popular spot, as it was packed during our visit.

Shae was our server and made great recommendations that we thoroughly enjoyed, and she brought great energy to our experience. We had the Toro sashimi, Chicory Salad, Mussels with lemongrass/ green curry (yum), and a delicious king salmon dish.

A Culinary Experience to Remember at The Fishery Hands down, this was the best meal I’ve had in years! I’ve been meaning to return to The Fishery for a while, and after last night’s meal, it’s officially on my must-visit list. As a self-proclaimed foodie who dines out about three times a week, I have high standards when it comes to quality ingredients and exceptional flavors—The Fishery did not disappoint. The experience started with the House Salad, which was light, refreshing, and impeccably balanced with a bright, herby vinaigrette—the perfect palate cleanser. Then came the Crab Cake appetizer, and wow. Crisp and golden on the outside, unbelievably tender and moist inside, packed with real, high-quality crab. So many crab cakes are dry, rubbery, or loaded with fillers—not here. The sauce drizzled on top was unique and unexpected, a delightful contrast to the typical remoulade. Even the delicate garnish of shaved fennel leaves showed the kitchen’s attention to detail. For my main dish, I ordered the Alaskan Halibut, and I’m already dreaming about my leftovers. The fish was macadamia nut-crusted, seared to perfection—golden and crisp on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth tender inside. It rested in a luxurious, herby crème fraîche butter sauce that elevated every bite. It’s rare to find a restaurant that truly values quality ingredients and executes them so flawlessly. From start to finish, every detail was on point. My palate can’t wait for my next dining adventure here—this place is an absolute gem! Tamara Renee
