BEHIND EVERY GREAT SEAFOOD RESTAURANT IS A WAREHOUSE STOCKED WITH FRESH SEAFOOD.
The Fishery Restaurant & Market is located just a few blocks from the ocean in North Pacific Beach.
The restaurant menu reflects ‘coastal cuisine’ with a simple yet serious focus on the best our coastal fisheries and local farms have to offer. The passion that drives Chef Mike Reidy is evidenced by flavors that can only be achieved using ingredients at their peak of seasonality and freshness.
The Fishery was awarded the prestigious Award of Excellence for its Wine List from Wine Spectator in 2018- Present. Our wine list is inspired by the great wines of Europe and their American counterparts and we strive to showcase real, natural, food friendly-wines with a sense of place.

The Fishery Market showcases fresh fish, prepared seafood, salads, sauces and marinades.

I was served the best swordfish that I have ever eaten!! So moist and tender despite being a large swordfish steak that could easily feed four. Our server explained that the fish was cooked slowly over low heat. The swordfish was enjoyed after a lovely cocktail, Mexican shrimp that were also cooked perfectly and enormous, tender mussels presented in a curry sauce that my husband finished as a soup course. Our only criticism would be the mentioning of the low light level in tandem with the small print on the menu. We were not the only ones in our section of the lively restaurant to pull out our readers and phone flashlight, something that we would prefer not be required. Can't wait to go back and further explore the menu.

We are visiting San Diego from Boston and ate twice at The Fishery. It is our favorite restaurant. Food is creative, exceptionally prepared, fresh, and memorably delicious. Our server Ian was attentive and kind, answered questions to help us understand what to order from the large number of choices. Ian understands fish, and understood our preferences, and our dinner exceeded expectations. I ordered the swordfish—and it was tender, flavorful, prepared with light tomato sauce, served over sautéed spinach and leeks. It is amazing, awesome, and highly recommended!

The Fishery is one of those places that just gets everything right. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the warm, attentive staff. The seafood is as fresh as it gets. The cocktails are absolutely top-notch—thoughtfully crafted, beautifully balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. The wine selection and non-alcoholic offerings are just as carefully curated. It’s the kind of place where you can tell the team truly cares about what they do, and it shows in every detail. If you love great seafood, amazing drinks, and genuine hospitality, The Fishery is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be back!
