I usually give 5 stars when we visit. This time there were just a few things that made me drop one. Starting with the awesome cured tuna appetizer - so delicious - refreshing, fresh flavors. This was my husband’s choice and he’d ordered it on previous visits but I kept stealing bites. My kale salad was… nice. Thin slices of Asian pear and two thin slices of cheese made me wonder at the $18 ticket. My suckling pig entree was really good- the pork melted in my mouth but the red cabbage slaw nestled between the pork and potatoes was ice cold and so made everything on the plate cooler. Not a good thing. My husband had the black cod and that was wonderful. We shared the fig newton dessert but it was very dry and the little oval scoop of ice cream didn’t change that. And the noise level which is a big deal for us was louder than usual but it may be because we were at the rail upstairs overlooking the bar; usually we are on the main floor. As always, the staff and service were top notch.

The food and atmosphere were outstanding! Creative and delicious combinations of flavors. Kielbasa appetizer was a winner as was the octopus. Scallops, salmon, and suckling pig entrees were all well prepared and beautifully presented. Cocktails were on the weak side but the cappuccino was excellent.

Food execution was very good, potions very small for the price, and desert called chocolate trifle is a deconstructed desert that is not a trifle and again was a very small portion (considering the price). Wait staff was extremely helpful and on their game.

The chef prepared a special vegan dish for one member of our party, and the waitress was very accommodating. The mac ‘n’ cheese was to die for, and the chocolate trifle, very nice. It was a special spot to host a holiday party.

I've loved this place for almost two decades. Last night was my first real disappointment. Miserly wine pour. Extremely pricey. Bland service. Costly valet service.

Service was probably overly provided as two different servers were asking us for drink and food orders. This was too repetetive. Service attentiveness came of as if they were rushing us to order and eat. The meals were tasty. The meat based meals were a decent portion size. However, the seafood meals were quite limited in the portion size.

Good friends recently moved to Somerset NJ, requiring us to come up with a place to dine ---what a find! Frog and Peach is perfect: great food, service and relaxed ambience. Tucked away in the middle of "Georgetown" type new condos, this oasis has an interesting, unusual menu -- including a seasonal price fix $78 that looks great -- right now, it was a "Southern" menu with hush puppies, BBQ etc that is not to our liking. Special appie Veggie Raviolo was terrific, as was the freshly baked bread on- site. Caccio e Pepe was ok, but could have been more "saucy" and peppery for me, and a bit less al dente. Duck was delicious. We realized that New Brunswick is only a short ride from Somerset and plan to return for their well-known brunch!
