The Grill at Forty 1° North is a dockside restaurant designed to deliver a fresh, upscale dining and entertainment experience while providing a unique and serene respite from Newport’s bustling waterfront scene. The menu features grilled meats, seafood and raw bar, as well as organic and locally sourced selections. There is an open-air dining area, with individual tables and bar seating surrounding the covered Pavilion. Fabulous cocktails and amazing food from the new chef! Had the Valentine’s Day surf & turf special—the most tender, succulent lobster we’ve ever had and the ribeye was grilled to perfection. Server was very lovely too. Have dined here before in the summer and fall. This time was exceptional—Highly recommend dining here.

We enjoyed a wonderful brunch on a wintery Saturday! Extensive brunch menu, outstanding service and delicious food served in a great environment. Service was just right - attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet respite for great food in Newport!

The king crab and the tuna tartar was incredible. Drinks were excellent. Salad and meal did not impress. We will try again with different choices as overall our night was one to remember

The restaurant was very accommodating….I was only able to make a reservation online line for 5 people, but I called and changed it to 7 with no problem. The atmosphere was modern and chic. It was dark out and snowy, but the views must be stunning in good weather. Food was fabulous and our waiter was knowledgeable friendly and attentive.

As always, the food was exceptionally prepared in the service from Serdan even made the evening more pleasurable. Is it tentativeness to every detail is outstanding.

The restaurant is pretty, with outside views if you are fortunate enough to get one. It is a big square with high ceilings and is loud. There were two of us, and we were seated at a table that was a typical width but an unusual length making it difficult to talk over the background noise. I think it was meant to be fancy which leads to my real complaint of the night. If you like a restaurant that puts on airs and tries to be fancy, this is for you. There seems to be an attempt at being ritzy, but it just left us feeling uncomfortable. The waitress was efficient but seemed stressed as was the man who cleared our table. We have gone to expensive, high end restaurants many times over the years, but they rarely left us walking away feeling like we spent a lot of money for a mediocre night, at best. They need to work on making the customers feel appreciated.
