L'hôtel Kew Gardens est un établissement récemment rénové comprenant un gastropub, un bar et un hôtel-boutique de 20 chambres. Il est situé au coeur du village de Kew (ouest de Londres), loin de l'agitation et du bruit de la vie urbaine. Le restaurant se trouve un peu en retrait du bar principal, où le service aux tables est offert. Le menu change sur une base mensuelle, en fonction des produits de saison et de ce qui le marché offre de meilleur. La carte des vins est développée mais abordable. Elle est fréquemment mise à jour grâce à des dégustations offertes aux clients, qui choisissent ce qui figurera sur la liste. Le bar est l'attraction principale du bâtiment, vous accueillant avec son grand feu et ses canapés confortables. Le menu à la carte est disponible dans le bar. Si vous recherchez quelque chose d'un peu plus léger, un menu de casse-croûte est servi toute la journée. L'établissement offre une sélection de bières en constante évolution, une vaste liste de vins, de whiskys et de brandys, ainsi que des cocktails et une gamme exquise de spiritueux abordables ou hauts de gamme.

Ordered the lamb and beef roast dinners. Good portion size and choice of veg but the temperature of the food was warm. Wasn’t expecting a service charge of 12.5% at a pub. Staff were friendly.

Being relieved to be able to book a table on a busy evening, with many places showing 6 nations rugby, we were underwhelmed by the food served on what seemed a reasonable menu. A roasted squash a chickpea salad was served without any roasted squash in a small portion. The giant prawn and monkfish salad had only 5 flakes of monkfish, again in a meagre portion. The remaining two orders (vegan burger and pie of the day) were judged passable. On questioning the lack of roasted squash in the salad,we were offered to have it removed from the bill. After consultation with the kitchen, this offer was withdrawn and a free dessert offered instead. None of us wanted dessert, so we were charged the full price. We paid and left. Service was attentive, though the waiter was taken aback when questioned about the insubstantial main meals. In addition to all this, in a sparsely patronised restaurant, we were seated next to the access door to the outside table, yet there were other, warmer tables apparently available. There was an icy blast each time the door was opened.

Such a great little find, such a perfect place to catch up with friends and have a lovely meal. This place is ideal to have something to eat before you go to Kew Gardens. It’s about five minutes away from the tube station five minutes away from Kew Gardens. The stuff there are inviting, knowledgeable about the food and just adds to the whole experience. The food was so tasty, we could not decide whether to go for the monkfish and prawn curry, we asked the staff for their opinion and he explained it to us and when it came, we were glad we went with his choice. It was so good. We also had the fish and chips. I loved the curry sauce that came with it.

This was a wonderful experience, from the warm welcome at the front bar through to the cheerful person who seated us, and the food, service and ambience. We asked for a table in a quiet location and were offered the choice of two - both very good. Such a joy to be able to have a conversation.

We came here for a family meal over Christmas. The service and food was great, the drinks selection especially the cocktails is top notch and overall we’d recommend and definitely return when we’re in the area!

Christmas Day lunch. Great vegan options, but even allowed us to have vegan options from the gluten free menu. Artichoke and chickpea starter - delicious. Oyster mushroom and polenta - outstanding, and a welcome alternative to wellingtons and strudel mains often seen on other menus. One of us had the vegan cherry crumble and one had the pineapple tartin...both of us thought they were superb. Sides were also large and tasty. The staff were all super friendly, despite being so busy. Just wish we lived closer, then we'd definitely be regulars.
