I had the Braised Short Ribs and they were excellent. My wife ordered the fresh fish of the day which was suppose to be Halibut. When she began eating it she noticed that there was a skin on the fish (an indication that it was not Halibut; it was salmon). She indicated that, at the store, salmon is a much cheaper fish than Halibut. The fish was under cooked and she sent it back to be cooked more. At 3am my wife got sick to her stomach, I was find; other than the short ribs & fish we both had the same thing all day.

We had the roasted chicken breast and short ribs. Delicious. Our waiter, Michael, was very pleasant and attentive.

Really wanted this restaurant to be as good as it used to be but the quality is really went downhill with new chef orders, spaghetti and meatballs supposed to be homemade meatballs I don't know where they came from. Plus they were ice cold inside the spaghetti.

We met friends for dinner at The Lodge and had a lovely experience. Service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and professional. We all had excellent meals: chicken Caesar salad, short ribs, summer squash and lemon quinoa (V), and mac 'n' cheese. Our drinks were perfect as well, two of which were standard, two were customized. The Lodge has the perfect mountain ambience, refined mountain casual. We often dine here and highly recommend it.

Great place to dine! I had the roast chicken and my husband had the pasta and we shared the house salad. The staff is very kind and attentive, and the restaurant has a real neighborly feel to it!

As usual, the food and service was very good. It is over priced by comparison to other good Truckee area restaraunts.

Go for the burgers and drinks! But…If dinner last night was any indication, the Lodge appears to continue its’ downward trend, which we’ve been witnessing since the departure of Chef Lew perhaps two years ago. It’s upsetting because having a pub and restaurant practically in our backyard is a huge asset. None of the 4 mains, appetizer or soup was noteworthy last night. The ahi nachos are merely a shadow of the fine example of this dish that was served a few years ago- now it presents as a scant amount of fish poorly distributed, sauce flat and did not add anything dynamic to the flavor profile and chips were oily, flavorless and soft. Salad Nicoise, new to the menu, was not a classic example but rather an overly large assemblage of ingredients, unmixed and undressed. A plain oil and vinegar was served on the side. Saving grace was the very generous serving of seared tuna which was flavorful and left me well fed. A companion’s Pasta bolognese was flat and indistinct and the pancetta advertised did not help it to come alive. Every time I go to the Lodge I tell myself to just get the burger because it is excellent and never disappoints. Wish I had heeded my own advice again last night. If the Lodge reverts to solely a pub menu it may prove to be a good move; I don’t pretend to understand the economic model. The higher end menu rarely comes off from what I’ve experienced the last couple of years. I hope there is someone at the helm who can right this ship; it would be a real loss for the TD and Truckee in general if the Lodge does a slow spiral into sustained mediocrity.

Our waitress Bronwyn was great. Elk ribs with huckleberry sauce were awesome.
