   Great food and service. I like the vibe of this place. You’re getting a high quality product but it’s unpretentious. Go if you like good food without the fuss!

   We went for a Valentine's Day dinner that I had scheduled almost a month before. When we got there, we sat down for a cocktail. We waited almost 10 minutes, but the bartender was either too busy or neglected to serve us, so the hostess took great care of us. When we got to the table, the menu was a Prix-Fixe only menu. We had checked the menu when we made reservations, as well as on the day of our reservation. This was not the menu that we were given. I was really looking forward to trying their cheeseburger and fries for $22, but instead, had to pay $95 for my 3-course meal. Ridiculous. We spoke with the hostess (manager?) and even she said that she wasn't aware that there would be a Prix-Fixe menu until she came in that day at 5pm. When she/I double-checked the menu for Valentine's Day, it was not on their website AT ALL. We were NOT happy. We knew that every other nice restaurant in Asheville would be packed, so we felt like we should stay. (We were going to a concert In Asheville after the meal). The hostess was kind and understanding, and took both of our cocktails off of our over $200 bill. This is a supposed to be highly recommended restaurant with great food and service, but this was inexcusable. I just wonder if anyone else that dined with them that evening had a similar experience ....

   We were a group of eight and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal. The only disappointment was that the Benton's Bacon Old Fashioned was not available, as five people wanted to get this cocktail. The Market Place is a great dining establishment and consistently performs at a high level.

   Very nice environment and attentive wait staff. Cheese board and mushroom tagliatelle were delicious and properly prepared and presented.

   The winter menu is short but very well executed. Onion soup and cauliflower appetizers were hot and tasty. Entrees, lamb shank with grits, excellent! Burger was in my opinion too lean. The mushroom pasta had nice flavor although, the mushrooms were less than exotic. All in all a great night out!

   Always a great experience, literally from the minute we come through the door! Dana is welcoming, friendly and fun! Our server, Rob, was knowledgeable and attentive. The food was great!

   The Marketplace was a wonderful dining experience!! We have lived in Asheville for 1-1/2 years and this is now our favorite restaurant. The delicious food, friendly staff and world class chef make this one of the best places to eat in Asheville! The chef came out to meet us after our meal and we really appreciated him taking time to meet us. Overall we give this place our highest recommendation for dining in Asheville❤️

    Market Place is nice for an easy dinner. But not sure how it’s showing up as a top contender for Asheville. The menu options are limited and the service is ok. Our server was a bit odd and didn’t seem to be interested in serving us. He acted like he preferred bigger tables and guest that spend a lot more. The chef did a great job and food was cooked perfectly. Background music selection was a bit odd and out of place for the setting. Overall it was ok. But definitely not a place to repeat. Just our opinion.
