We have enjoyed spending special occasions at Melting Pots all over the country. The Boise location is very unique being inside the historic Fire Station, which still includes the “pole”, used by fire fighters to access the trucks from the second floor. The service has been second to none, with staff giving full attention to details. Gracie took great care of us as we celebrated 34 years of marriage. We were also impressed with the attention and friendliness of the manager (Jason). The 4 course meal was extremely tasty and the variety of food choices is amazing. All in all I would recommend the Boise Melting Pot for a wonderful night out, special occasion or not.

We have had great experiences here in the past, but this visit was far from that. 40 minutes after being seated we had not received our drinks, nor was there any effort to provide service to us. Sadly we probably won’t return.

Below meh on nearly all accounts. 730pm Christmas Eve reservation. Had to wait until 8pm to be seated. Host staff were unfriendly and did not look up from the station to greet guests. The cheese fondues were tasty but the bread was average and the accoutrements comprised raw baby carrots, red bell peppers, broccoli and grapes that were not fresh. Borderline gross. The two salads we ordered were good and the mojito was excellent. The server also was excellent. But for the quality of food served and overly high prices, we will not return.

It’s always a great experience dining at The Melting Pot—it has truly become part of our holiday tradition. This year, we chose to celebrate with a Christmas Eve dinner, and once again, everything was wonderful. The wait wasn’t long, the food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. We’re a family of six with all adult kids, and the staff made sure every request and dietary allergy was carefully accommodated. It was a relaxed, enjoyable evening and the perfect way to celebrate the holiday together.

It was very loud, crowded and expensive. Our server was so very nice, but it seemed the servers couldn't keep up with the crowd. For roughly $70 per person, I would pick somewhere else next time.

For a quieter experience, choose a weekday or an earlier seating, guests report weekends and holidays (e.g., Valentine’s Day) are busiest and can be noisy. If you want specials, consider happy hour or their Thursdate promotions. If you’re celebrating, book ahead and mention preferences so staff can accommodate a better table.

Yes, the Melting Pot is family-friendly and guests often bring kids for the fondue experience. Reviews note patient, helpful staff with families and birthday parties. Seating includes booths and bar seating, and staff have moved parties to quieter tables when needed. Guests frequently celebrate birthdays and anniversaries here, praising attentive servers who make evenings special. Expect a multi-course, sharable meal ideal for lingering conversation; prices reflect a fine-dining fondue experience (example: a full 5-course for two cited by guests). If you want a quieter table, request an early seating or ask about a quieter spot when you reserve.

The Melting Pot offers a fun, interactive fondue experience with a warm, casual–upscale feel. Guests praise the unique, memorable format and friendly staff; several called it 'a memorable event' and enjoyed the vintage firehouse vibe. That said, atmosphere can vary, large parties have made the restaurant loud at times, and a few guests mentioned seating near restrooms or busy areas that reduced privacy. Overall it’s clean and well-maintained with a social, celebratory energy.

Portions at The Melting Pot tend to be generous and shareable, fondue meals are designed for splitting. Multiple guests noted that the “Big Night Out” and four-course options provide a lot of food (one guest called it an "enormous amount of food"). Expect several courses (cheese, salads, entrées to cook, and chocolate dessert) that leave most parties well fed; consider sharing or ordering a smaller fondue option if you want a lighter meal.

The fondue itself, both the cheese and the chocolate courses, is the star here. Guests repeatedly praise the cheese fondues and especially the chocolate dessert fondues (several named chocolate fondues and desserts as highlights). Seafood entrées like shrimp and lobster were also singled out as favorites. If you want a signature experience, pick a multi-course fondue menu and save room for the chocolate fondue dessert.

Yes, guests report attentive staff who remember preferences and accommodate celebrations, sauces, and table moves. The restaurant accepts private and large parties, so you can request seating, celebrate birthdays, or ask about menu substitutions when booking. For strict dietary needs or accessibility requests, call ahead to confirm details and reduce the chance of delays or mix-ups.

The dress code is smart casual. Guests typically dress up a bit for the multi-course fondue experience, think neat casual attire suitable for a special night out or celebration.

There’s no explicit waiting-list policy provided, but guests experienced delays during busy periods (waiting past reservation times, slow service on holidays). Reservations are recommended, and if you’re concerned about waits ask when you book whether they maintain a waitlist or call-ahead seating. Arriving a little early and confirming your reservation can help during peak nights.

Yes, Melting Pot Boise offers vegan and vegetarian choices as well as gluten-free options. There’s a dedicated Vegan Menu (Vegan Garden Pot, Vegan Cheese & Chocolate fondues), vegetarian entrées like Wild Mushroom Ravioli, and menu notes about gluten-free bases and substitutions. Guests have also mentioned staff accommodating requests, but call ahead to confirm cross-contact practices if you have strict allergies.

Yes, families and kids dine here regularly. Guests described bringing children for their first fondue experience and praised patient, helpful staff. There’s a Kids Menu with fun kid-friendly sippers and smaller entrée options. Because fondue is interactive and multi-course, consider an early seating and mention any special needs when you reserve to ensure the best experience for young diners.
