The Olde Dog Inn at Herongate Tye is a picturesque Essex weather boarded inn. Known to date from the early 16th century, the pub has been serving good beer and food for hundreds of years. A wealth of traditional features greets you upon arrival with low-beamed ceilings, exposed fireplaces and a friendly atmosphere.

Once again The Olde Dog Inn has been voted by OpenTable diners as one of the best. Thank you so much to all our customers that dined with us and left a review.

*Bookings for tables of more than 6 people require a £10pp deposit which will be deducted from your bill on the day. Please note that deposits are non-refundable. If more that 48 hours’ notice is given for cancellation, we will be happy to move your deposit to a future booking or provide a gift voucher for the amount.

A lovely Sunday lunch for Mothers Day. The food was great and so was the service. Lovely friendly staff. The food was very reasonable, freshly cooked and delicious.

Good service received, food was very good, plenty of it. Experience could have been better due to a large party who kept opening door to outside which at times made the room quite cold. Overall a good experience and will visit again.

We were looking for a restaurant in the area and many were fully booked but this pub had spaces. Really pleased it did as the Sunday lunch was great, beef was cooked well, good sized portions and excellent cheesecake!
