The Plumed Horse Restaurant has been a beacon of South Bay fine dining since 1952. Led by Executive Chef Peter Armellino, it is a destination for those travelling to visit, yet retains its landmark status as a place to relax, unwind, enjoy, and indulge for locals. Michelin has agreed, awarding Chef Peter a star for 15 consecutive years.

Chef's tasting menu, composed of multiple courses featuring items from local farms and fishermen, is the highlight. A la carte is offered in select seatings on certain evenings.

Wear whatever makes you comfortable, but you are here for a special night out, dressing up is fun! While not required, suits, sportcoats and classy attire will generally get you the best seats in the house.

We are an "adult restaurant." If you are bringing in younger patrons, we want to make it a great experience for every guest. We ask for no tablet or cell-phone entertainment that might disturb others. This is your night to make memories with each other as a family.

From the OpenTable editors: Open since 1952, South Bay’s pioneering The Plumed Horse is a fine-dining destination for its California-inspired tasting menus. At the MICHELIN-Starred stunner with a nearly 20,000-bottle wine cellar and fireside lounge, chef Peter Armellino dazzles with dishes like black pepper-parmesan soufflé with uni and blue crab fondue. Taken just as seriously as the food, the award-winning sommeliers and bartenders craft exquisite pairings to level it all up even more.

We used to go there all the time and stopped going about 8-9 months ago. Last time we were there the bartender was rude…. So we stopped going. We decided to give it another try, the bar area is very nice….and ….We had a great time, cocktails were great and portions were good size and bartenders were exceptional!!! If you haven’t been in awhile go…

All of the 4 courses were delicious except the main . The trout sauce was not good. Also prefer a thinner cut of that fish. The duck was fatty. The service was good once we got started. Waited at the table for 5-10 minutes before we got even got water. Lenny, the bartender, was excellent. The background playlist was also great excellent. Will come back for the crab soufflé and drinks.

This restaurant is definitely not deserved to be a Michelin restaurant. They have a totally terrible service and over priced menu + service charge. Not matter what you complain about, the only response you can hear is just something like sorry and it’s what it’s. Their excuse for the service quality issue was because Christmas brings them busy, but they are just half occupied or less lol. And for the steak, it was dry and low quality with a super salty mushroom on the side. You can do a same dish with better quality at home with the materials bought from Costco

Amazing gastronomic experience, albeit on the very expensive side, especially when 22% gratuities are already added. Having said that, service was fantastic, we were stuffed at the end of the 8 courses and really marveled at the Chef’s creations. The best part though, were the cocktail drinks and the Granny Smith apple for desert. These two things were definitely worth it.

In a world where fine dining is easy to locate, what moves the chef to slap a hodgepodge of tastes on the plate and pour Oregon made sparkling wine at a start of a meal? Perhaps the boss who pushes 8 course tasting menu down onto the customers without giving the option of more refined 4 course dinner menu? Dunno the answer, but what I do know that mediocre quality caviar slathered with vinegar and washed down by bad champagne hasn’t won this place its star. Anymore. A fine detail was me asking for lactose free meal. While my partner enjoyed a soufflé, I was offered tasteless noodles, well boiled and sprinkled with some sriracha. This place doesn’t deserve the accolades. I feel sorry for the chef who made an amazing beef dish with bordelaise sauce because some rookie slapped oily bunch of deep fried miatake mushrooms on the plate right next to it. Yikes!! Unbelievable!
