For Jeff Ruby, this is the steakhouse that started it all. In 1981, The Precinct was born in the former Cincinnati Police Patrol House Number 6. This turn-of-the-century, Romanesque-style structure would hold what is now the longest, continuously running fine dining restaurant in the city.
Recently named one of America's Top 10 Steakhouses by USA Today and Gayot.com, The Precinct is frequently recognized as having Cincinnati’s best steaks, seafood, and service. We were there to celebrate my birthday. It was our first time there. We were so impressed with our server, David. He was exceptional ! Our food was amazing!! My husband, Mark, and I highly recommend this restaurant!! Thank you!

Always love the precinct. Ruby steaks are bar none. Outdoor seating however horribly noisy and unromantic. Note me to self. 😎

Started good. Crab cake, pork belly, martini all good. Then nothing. No more food served, no waiter telling us about a delay - nothing. 30-40 minutes later, after bringing this to the attention of management, our 85 day dry aged steak comes out gray and all the sides lukewarm at best. The fact someone thought it was acceptable to serve a $150 steak looking like that speaks volumes as to the kitchen staff, at least that particular night. Everyone has an off night but this was beyond “off”.

As is to be expected at a Ruby’s establishment, dinner and service at the Precinct were exceptional. Trey, our waiter and Izzy, his assistant, were attentive without being intrusive and paced our courses as requested allowing time to savor each while enjoying our conversation. Our filet mignon was prepared to perfection. The truffle corn, while definitely not needed with the included salad and potato, was an irresistible side dish. I highly recommend trying it. Clint,the manager, stopped by to ensure our expectations had been met and took time for friendly conversation, the epitome of great customer service.
