   For a restaurant that pretty much does one thing, and they have been in business for more 50 years, it wasn't anything spectacular. I knew what I was getting into when I made the reservation, so there were no surprises about the price or what was on the menu. I ordered the escargot appetizer and had to send it back. The parsley was burnt, there was no more butter left in the shells, and the snails were mushy. The remade the order, but this time, I didn't spend enough time in the broiler and the butter had barely melted and snails were lukewarm. The cook on the meat was good. My mother-in-law ordered the 8 ounce filet and it looked on the small side. Of course, you can't bring a scale to the restaurant, but I would be surprised if it was an 8 ounce cut. The mushrooms were lukewarm. Again, you make the same sides numerous times a night. Why aren't they perfect? Our service was good, but not to the aplomb this establishment makes itself out to be. Our server didn't mention one of the appetizer specials that I heard another waiter explain to his table, but yet that same waiter didn't tell his table about the halibut special our waiter told us about. I spoke with one of the managers about a wine selection and his knowledge of the wines was disappointing. They should have someone there who can recommend a bottle within a certain price point who knows what they are talking about. Our wine was Ok, but we weren't thrilled with it. I don't think we'll be returning to The Prime Rib as we went there to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday and there is nothing there I really need to go back for.

   Jumbo was a terrific server. The Jazz trio were superb. Our food was predictably delicious.

   Bob, our waiter, was outstanding. It was busy but Bob, not knowing it was my wife’s birthday, left the restaurant (probably someone else) to purchase a 2 liter bottle of a soft drink they don’t normally have. Bob, it was much appreciated and made my wife’s birthday the special event it was intended to be. BHC

   We ordered a “special” heirloom tomato salad. The tomatoes were mushy and tasteless. The prime rib that we ordered was in edible and bore no resemblance to prime rib, except for being bloody and red. The waiter valiantly tried to apologize and ultimately, we returned the prime rib and had steak instead. Given the fact that “prime rib“ is the name of the restaurant one would think that they would serve prime rib of the highest quality. We have been to this restaurant many times and have never been disappointed. Unfortunately, we were with other members of our family who were from out of town, we were quite embarrassed.

   Hands down the best steak in Maryland! The atmosphere is amazing too, a little price for a weekly thing, but great for a anniversary, birthday, date night, etc

   Honestly, January 3rd 25' was the most disappointing meal I've ever had at the Prime Rib, one of my favorite restaurants. (I'm a quarterly bar girlie.) The prices had gone up since I the last time I was there a few months ago, and the food was nowhere near as good. I would say that the seafood dishes were both subpar. Had I been in a different mood, I would have sent back one of the items. That's all that I will say out of respect for one of the best places in town.

    First and foremost, The Prime Rib is our favorite Baltimore area restaurant. We make reservations at The Prime Rib for special occasions. This past New Years Eve was no exception. Unfortunately, our waiter missed the mark. While I understand, New Years Eve at The Prime Rib is one of their busiest nights of the year, there is also an expectation for the level of service you should receive at The Prime Rib. Our waiter was forgetful, inattentive, and frankly missing in action for long periods of time.
