   Came for my mother’s 80th birthday. The service is wonderful. They greeted us at the door as a birthday for my mother. Food was amazing. Service was awesome. The dessert menu could be worked on a bit if he didn’t want anything that was experimental you were out of luck. I always like a good crème brûlée or bread pudding, but there was nothing that was normal. Dessert menu. But I still give it a five star because I was stuffed by the time dessert came anyway lol

   We've dined several times at The Republic, and always it's been outstanding. Last night Gracie was our attendant, and she was the best. More than competent, personable, but with good boundaries--helpful but not intrusive, charming. We learned she's in the hospitality school--she's a lock! Food, bar, entrees and sides--all five star as usual.

   We were there for a birthday dinner, seated in a small room. The music was blaring and had to ask them twice to turn it down. Overall, the food and service were great. There were some hit and misses, however. I've had "lump" crab cakes all over the country and always have to ask how much filler is in it and if it is true lump. The server said there's not much filler. Well, it's not lump either. was more shredded and yes, there was a good bit of filler. I didn't want to have to wait for something else as that was my main course and everyone else already got their food. The sweet potato soup was very good except it wasn't hot. Luke warm at best. My sons both got the fried chicken that didn't have a lot of flavor and got soggy because of the sauce poured on top. Pork belly was very good. Server sold us on the whiskey "flight". I would hardly call it a flight when there were only 2 types of very small amounts of whiskey. Very expensive for what we got.

   Amazing wait staff and excellent food. Great place to treat your A&M student when in town. Pricey but you get what you pay for.

   Excellent steak. Excellent service. Quiet atmosphere. Sides were good. Only complaint: You shouldn't charge 3$ for block ice in a 20$ old fashioned. And you should mention it.

   Our experience at the Republic Steakhouse was very good. We enjoyed the salad and the sides as well but their steak dishes were great! I look forward to exploring different dishes there.

    I was disappointed in the crab cakes which I chose as my entree. I should’ve read the menu in more detail. I didn’t realize that they would be served tempura style (Texas beer battered per the menu) with guacamole and corn relish. I also had the lobster bisque which was good.
