Bodega is the street level Tavern, that offers no frills cocktails in addition to draft beer and shots.

With a reservation, or if allowed admission from the Bartender upstairs, you can experience The Rest. It is a subterranean gem that looks like a bar that Hemingway would have built. Dark wood, taxidermy, old books and plenty of good whiskey. Perfect place for privacy and escaping the world for a minute... Or hours.

The vibe is chill and you really feel like you’re walking into a secret place. It’s a pretty low light setting so it took a little time for the eyes to adjust to see the entire setting which is really cool. Before I lay down this evening out, I want to be clear we will be going back under different circumstances. So, like most of you we had to book far in advance se we had plenty of time to review the menu and had a good idea of what we wanted. However, on this night we were offered a limited 3 course menu. We had the choice of 3 appetizers, 3 entrees and 3 desserts. And none of them are what were discussed as “must try’s” in the previous reviews. So we went with it. On this night you ordered everything at one time. Appetizer, entree and dessert. The appetizer came out immediately, (which tasted excellent). Out of the three entree options Gnochhi, New York Steak and something that was pretty weird. We went with the steak. The flavor was really good, however it was a was a little undercooked. We had time to enjoy the appetizer as the steak was being cooked close to temperature. So we began to enjoy our meal when about half way through the main course our dessert was brought to the table. So it sat and the ice cream melted while I rushed to eat the rest of my meal. The service was lackluster, service walked by many times not asking if there was anything else we needed. Until it was time to bring the check. From start to finish we were in and out in under an hour. So we didn’t really get to enjoy our meal. For a $200 dinner for two I would expect a little more. The experience and the atmosphere of the place was worth the spend. The food and most of all service, you can get way better for way less within a block and not feel like you’re in a drive through.

Went there on a date and was saddened that they were out of two plates we had planned ordering. The braised pork shoulder and the New York strip steak. They have a fairly limited, small menu, fairly odd they would be out of items the evening before Valentine’s Day. And considering this was our V-Day date, certainly hampered our expectations for dinner.

We went back again after an amazing first experience. This time my boyfriend and I were very disappointed. Everything we ordered was sooo overly salted it was hard to eat. The service was fine. Wrong food was brought to our table twice but it got resolved. We were so excited but don’t think we’ll go back a third time.

Excellent food (wowza on the beer can chicken) and great ambiance - so fun to look through the vinyl and play your favorites. Our server Maddy was great too!

The food and service used to be exceptional. We don't drink alcohol and were there because in the past the food was so good. We returned to find new owners and a new menu and had a rough experience. Our server was nice but she was clearly rolling with some horrible transition issues. The food was good but two of us got our entrés with our salads and two waited so long the first two entrés were cold. They remade them and in the end tried to accommodate. I sincerely hope the new owners can sort things out. They probably should have made their first week a practice on friends and family before opening to the public.

Incredible food. The carrot cake is one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. My husband really enjoyed the Old Fashioned flight and they made me a couple custom cocktails. Great experience.

It’s a very fun space and our server was excellent. We’ve been before multiple times and had positive experiences. But…the food was so awful this time we almost thought we were on a hidden camera prank type show. The ceviche smelled and tasted like it had been dead on the shores of the Great Salt Lake since July, the “salad” said it came with a honey Dijon vinaigrette, yet it was some lettuces and radicchio in a sea of what tasted like either tartar sauce or some sort of heavy ranch dressing. It could have been a soup instead of a salad. Then the pork shoulder arrived and it was literally somewhere between cold and room temperature. My spouse and I have been dining out together for 25 years and can only think of once we’ve sent something back as we hate conflict and would rather pretend it’s tolerable, but asked if they could maybe heat it up. Our server was great and they brought a new one, but by the time it arrived we couldn’t wait to leave. Hopefully we just caught them on a disastrous night.

What a wonderful way to end one year and begin the next! From entering the small bar and descending the long flight of stairs to the quiet booth set the mood for a night if intrigue and pleasure. Our waiter was friendly, attentive, but not

Ambience and drinks were above average, but the service was so horrible that it ruined our experience. A few meals were so overcooked that they were inedible. Nobody seemed to care. I Most likely would not return.
