NEW - 3 Course Pre-Theatre Menu for €47 The Saddle Room has launched a new culinary experience with our Pre-Theatre Menu. 2 courses priced at €40 per person or 3 courses at €47 per person. Running each week from Sunday to Thursday and can be booked at 5.30pm, 6pm or 6.30pm Executive head chef Garry Hughes works tirelessly ensure each dish is carefully curated resulting in a menu that is second to none.

I chose the Saddle Room as a special occasion for Christmas so didn’t mind the high price for the set menu. However, when paying €100pp, I thought asking for another €20 supplement for the steak was uncalled for. Also, having to pay extra for chips as no potato is served with the main course! The service itself couldn’t be faulted.

This is a great restaurant, but we felt disappointed as the menu we viewed on Open Table when booking was not available. As a result, we were stuck with a set menu, which was their festive menu still unfortunately. We were not that happy we didn't get to have the crab and halibut dishes which were why we booked. Great service, but not the food we expected but this should have been flagged I felt on the Open Table booking. It was a cold night out, and the dining room was uncomfortably cold. I would normally recommend the Saddle Room but this experience wasn't great.

Excellent food and service for a bday celebration. Ellen made us feel like home. Fillet & Argentinian red wine is a must (Gaia).

A lovely way to start the year. The highlight of the meal was the service - lots of really attentive staff. Special mention for our waiter Faddy (I hope I got the spelling correct) who was pretty-much note perfect. He was so kind to our two young daughters. Young Dubliner gent on front of house also very charming and the somm was really informative. Really well-done to the whole team.

Nice Christmas lunch out with husband, we do this every year and always choose somewhere fancy! Menu was very limited with basic choice between steak, salmon, chicken or vegetarian - I went with the salmon and TBH I would prefer my own fillet of salmon at home. They had the domes which seemed a bit ridiculous considering how basic the main course was. The cauliflower soup was nice for starter. Eton mess for dessert was not pleasant, the lemon curd was not tangy enough, texture was not smooth enough and smothered in too much cream and the meringue was not the home made type which I expected. The service was very nice, ambience was ok but tables not full which is surprising for Friday before Christmas but perhaps not considering the lunch set price of €70. The Journey to toilet was a bit dingy and decor looked tired. we had bottle of wine. 2 mince pies, again not homemade looking , came after our coffee, too late should have come with the coffee. All came to €220. Nice afternoon but not the gourmet experience we expected of the saddle room in the SHELBOURNE!

Disappointed in the food. No dish stood out except perhaps the salmon starter. Eton Mess was very poor as were the truffle fries. Service staff we an odd mix of fantastic and weirdly rude. Atmosphere was a bit stuffy. The bill was a hefty with booze amounting to about

I have dined numerous times and as always it was fab. We went together all my family for first time and we had such lovely experience so much so they want to do it every year now at Xmas going forward. Thanks to all the staff and especially our waiter he was lovely and funny and very efficient thanks again guys
