The Smith is a casual American brasserie with four upbeat locations in New York City: The Smith East Village, The Smith Midtown, The Smith Lincoln Square, and The Smith NoMad, as well as locations in DC and Chicago. We care about every meal and every moment. The menu features bistro classics, seasonal fare, and craft cocktails. Walk in the door and you’re in for a great time. Whether it’s date night, drinks on the town, a big birthday bash, a working lunch, a boozy brunch, or an I-don’t-want-to-cook-tonight night, we’ve got you covered.

Use this app. Long wait without reservation. Price NYC prices but not too bad for 2. Close to Central Park , Lincoln Center and the Beacon… good American food

We were seated immediately even though walk-ins were waiting… and thank you for that. It felt like the fact we had reset was valued by The smith. I asked for a particular table and they were able to accommodate me. I had a really great evening there. Thank you The Smith for making it memorable and holding my reservation!

Went here for sunday brunch before the ballet at lincoln center. it is extremely busy and noisy and crowded. every table was right on top of one another. one room near the front door was freezing, the other room in the back where i sat was hot. Appetizers: mac and cheese was fantastic, huge portion. i had the french dip. something was off about it. it just tasted odd. I think it was the sauce on it and the steak itself did not taste fresh. French fries were really good. my daughter got the ny strip with eggs. she ordered a medium and it came out more like well done. the home fries were excellent. This place a bit pricey and the service was excellent. Not sure if i would come back.

We sat down and we couldn’t relax or take our coats off. The restaurant is freezing. Our table was not set appropriately and we struggled getting silverware repeatedly. One gentleman who wasn’t our server was the shining star consistently bussing and making space for our dishes and providing the essentials to eat. The food was amazing! I had the filet and grits. Very tasty!

We had a reservation and were seated, but the table they gave us was in line with the door and the draft from the constant opening of the door made it very cold at our table. The diners around us were all uncomfortable as well. We asked to be moved and were told that it would be an hour wait for another table, and that the issue with being so cold inside a restaurant was “bad design”. No other concessions were offered to us. We did not feel that the management was concerned enough about our genuine discomfort to address the situation, so we left.

I order the Smith steak and got the Smith Burger?! Manager tried to make it right but I said no since everyone in my party was eating and did not want to be the one eating after everyone was done. Wait staff was subpar hence the problem.

Have been coming every year for at least 8 years before the nutcracker and always regret it. I recommend choosing elsewhere. It is always a mess at checkin. Food was good and is consistent. Our server was nice but swamped and service was slow for a place that caters to the Lincoln center crowd. We asked for our check 2 times before my mom had to get up and get it herself or we would be late for the show. If you’re not in a rush you would have a good time, but even so, there are a million better establishments in nyc to try.

We got seated at this corner booth with no chair so I strained my neck to look at my partner for 1.5 hours sitting right next to me. There were no other tables to move us to even though we had a reservation at 5:45pm. It just was awkward and hurt my neck to turn to look at him next to me. The food was mid at best. Not great which isn’t like the smith. Both of our meals were not great, which was disappointing and my cocktail was super sour when it wasn’t supposed to be. Our server was wonderful and we loved her. Not the best experience which makes me sad because I usually love the smith!!
