We had a Sunday 12n reservation. We were the only ones in the restaurant. By 1p 2 other tables came. Put that to the side, food was horrible!!! Scones were fine but the sandwiches and bread were uneatable. Would not go back. Do not recommend

I picked this because it was rated one of the best high teas in DC and I was so disappointed. There were only two parties (one being myself) in the restaurant and I got put in the side room in a corner with absolutely nothing to look at but the amazon music pod and cracking plaster (not the beautiful atrium that was advertised). The food was lack luster and bordering on inedible. It honestly tasted like it had sat out for days and was over seasoned/salted to try to make up for it. I am willing to pay a nice amount to eat good food in beautiful places but this missed the mark and still cost me a fortune. For reference I could have gotten a ribeye at one of the better steakhouses for the same cost and felt way less gypped. Think twice about booking or go to the Waldorf (which wasnt open for tea when I was there).

I recently had an afternoon tea at your hotel for my anniversary. I had planned it in advance for the occasion while my husband and I were in town on vacation, and booked it through OpenTable. We have done afternoon teas many times over the years for anniversary’s, so we had an idea of what to expect. On that reservation I noted that neither of us eat fish and that my husband was vegetarian. Given the menu I saw on the site, I figured it would be fine. When we arrived to tea today I was told that there was only the “special” seasonal menu and that the regular items were not being served. When I asked about the dietary restrictions, seeing as the special menu was primarily seafood, I was greeted by surprise, as no one had read the notes for my reservation or the phone call I had placed a month ago to make sure it would work out. I was told that the chef would “figure something out” for us, and I was ready to walk out but my husband knew I had been looking forward to this tea, and convinced me to give it a shot. The chef figured out very little, from what I could tell. For $75 each we were given: 3 tiny cucumber “sandwiches”, three goat cheese and fig crostinis. They were…okay. 4 scones of varying quality. Two cupcakes that had clearly been made using store bought funfetti cake mix and red velvet cake mix with matching store bought icing. Two tiny white pumpkin “shells.” Two store bought tiny chocolates. Two tiny jellies like those from a bulk bin. Two glasses of champagne. Two tea bags & water. The quality was disappointing. The waiter never came by to check on us. He actually stood in the other room and watched from afar the entire time after dropping off the food. When he came by with the check and asked how everything was, we told him it wasn’t great. He just shrugged as if it happens all the time. This is, frankly, outrageous that a hotel that has had such a high standard could offer such terrible service.

My companion and I came for the seasonal tea service. Lovely venue and appropriate ambiance for high tea. Not all the offerings were to my personal taste, but all high quality nonetheless. Our server was excellent as well, but unfortunately I don’t recall her name. Would recommend

Service and ambience were excellent. Two people in the party had salmon and they said it was excellently prepared and they really enjoyed it. Two others had pasta. Mine was basically tasteless and needed some sort of spice. Other person had gnocchi and she said too much sauce on it.

We always come here before going to see Washington Stage Guild performances at the Undercroft Theatre, a little farther down the block. The food is always delicious , the service excellent and the setting lovely. Perfect !

My friend and I caught up after a long time and this was perfect place for that. Food was excellent. We were however disappointed with tea. This was a high tea, but tea was very weak. We asked the waiter for more bags and he said they were $5 each!! There was no coffee. The service was very poor may be because one person was handling multiple duties. We did have good time chit chatting and enjoyed the food.
