Buffet style dinner for Valentine’s Day. Made the reservation three weeks prior and there was only a single time slot available on Open Table, 7:30pm. We were staying at the William Penn and we called down at 6 and asked if we could be seated early and they said no problem. We made it down around 6:45 and there may have been 40% of the tables occupied. Oh well, maybe they didn’t want a full house. The food - buffet style as I mentioned. That means it’s all about timing and our timing was terrible. Most of the main course offerings were down to their last breath or completely out by that time. By the time we were finished, they had started replenishing. We went back up and grabbed a bit of the fresh offerings, but the taste was mediocre. We won’t be eating at the Terrace Room again. Not worth the special event pricing by a longshot. Ambiance in the room is terrific, the murals and architecture are amazing. The patrons ranged from appropriate dress for ValentinesDay to hotel guests in sweats and flannel. Just not the experience we’d hoped to have.

We ended up walking out and not eating there because they only offered 3 entrees for dinner and no beef. It was extremely disappointing. Wish they communicated with us first that they only offer 3 entrees on the menu.

Beautiful room to enjoy breakfast. It was a little too chilly in the room but it was only 10 degrees outside. The food was very good. The pancakes were the best pancakes I ever had.

Overall, I was very disappointed by this experience. The Omni William promotes elegance, sophistication, class and the Afternoon Tea service the hotel offers doesn’t not meet traditional standards for this tea experience. You are offered one tea pot per person. The Darjeeling was served to me over steeped and bitter. The server was kind, but didn’t know the menu or how to speak about the tea leaves. The menu wasn’t updated and had various black lines and black marker on it to depict what was available. The food offerings are small and limited. For $55, this experience is overpriced. You are seated in the lobby which is noisy and awkward for a cultural experience meant to offer a relaxation from a busy day. I do not recommend this experience.

I came for the tea and asked to have a side salad. Staff only brought out enough tea food for three people and not four. After the savory was completed I finally had the chance to say something. So I got to enjoy the sweets. Kinda wish it was the other way around. Still paid full price for the tea. Kinda pricey for a side salad.

The tea experience was lovely. Our only complaint was that in order to use the restroom you had to get a hotel key from the hostess & there is only one key available for use. The wait gor the bathroom key was absurd. There should be a public restroom on the restaurant premises. Other than that it was an absolutely lovely day & we will be making it a yearly holiday tradition. We would highly recommend.

It was a strange experience. It is advertised as The Terrace Room, but that seems to be the name of the actual ballroom of the hotel — the menu was labeled Palm Court and seemed to be more of a lunch menu. Having said that the ambiance is very nice — high ceilings with interesting architecture. The server was very kind but overwhelmed — there was a huge party seated just before us that the whole staff seemed to be helping with. Food was just ok. The entree chicken was well-seasoned but very over-cooked. The arancini appetizer was forgotten and didn’t come out until after entrees (comped, which is appreciated). Arancini was under seasoned as well. The other entree was an Italian panini, again under seasoned. The menu offered waffle fries but the server said they’ve never had those. Overall seems like a little of an identity crisis. Appreciate the nice service though.
