   The service is great. Staff is attentive and caring about you. But the food… the food… not good. There is zero quality in the food. Nothing is fresh, the burger is dry and crumbly, the pizza is grocery store quality. You could make it at home and slap it on plate and it would be 7.99 not 25. At least a little plate dressing? Finally, the salmon is wet, and you can get better quality food at fast food Chinese restaurants. Tropicale, for the price you charge, you really need to make a better effort.

   The "butter chicken" was pieces of chicken soaking in butter. Inedible.

   This is our favorite restaurant in Palm Springs! The food is amazing. I had grilled prawns over a bed of pasta with a garlic sauce. The prawns were just delicious, so tender and scrumptious. My strawberry lemon drop was amazing. The last time we were here I had the raspberry lemon drop and it too was incredible. We love, love the food here and the service is lightning fast. We can’t wait to try another new dish — kudos to the chef !!

   After hearing all of the fanfare about the famous Palm Springs "Tropical", I finally visited them for lunch. I was not very impressed. It feels run down. The napkins were dirty. The flatware had food stuck to them. The meals were overpriced for the very average quality of the meals. I was very disappointed but am discovering that most of the dining in Palm Springs is a "B-" .

   We are semi-regulars. The food is always a solid 7 out of 10. Good and nothing extraordinary. The ambience is always fun…a but noisy even on the patios but always fun. The service is so-so. I think they are too busy to give really attentive service. Our waiter forgot to check on us, forgot many items we asked for…the dinner entrees came so fast that we were still eating appetizers and there was no room on the table for them so we asked that they be sent back to the kitchen. The bus service was just ok. We tried flagging down several of them to ask for water, salt and pepper and a spoon(never arrived). Some of them looked directly at us but didnt come to our table…I guess it wasn’t their “section” to assist with. All in all its a solid 7 but the service is a solid 5 out of 10. Not great.

   On a rainy day the associates at Tropicale went above and beyond to accomodate my group from Germany. Originally I was only able to reserve a Hi-Top table due to the rain and Modernism Week...but they found a way to give us a booth which greatly enhanced our experience. The wait staff as well as the food were exceptional.

   The service was amazing and very attentive. We sat outside, very hard to get to our table and get out after we finished. We ordered the Shrimp and Scallop Hot Pot, which was a huge disappointment, it was one of the specials for $38. It had 2 overcooked pieces of large shrimp, 3 scallops and a quart of miso broth, very very disappointing and the price was ridiculous. The other dish ordered was the Fish Stew also a special at $44. It was very hot (temp), glad the rice was brought to the table, a couple pieces of shrimp, also tough, several muscles and the smallest piece of Sea Bass. A disappointment all around. I have dined here several times with better results.While disappointed I am sure we will go back

    We both ordered beef dishes that were among the most expensive entrés on menu. They were both quite tough and chewy and in no way reflected the price. The wine and drinks were very good. We did not have dessert Very tasteful decor and good ambience. We would try it again and order soething else, but this first time was quite disappointing food wise..
