The world famous Walnut Room has been a Chicago tradition since 1907. Located on the 7th floor of Macy's on State Street, the Walnut Room was the first restaurant ever opened in a department store. Conveniently located in the heart of the Chicago theater district, the Walnut Room is an excellent choice to take a break from shopping or for a meal and a glass of wine before the show.

    Always a special place to be for the holidays. Our food was very good and the service excellent. Our server, Lex, added to the experience with his holiday-themed accessories and good cheer. His suggestions were very helpful and spot-on.

    We really enjoyed our time! James was an excellent server and the rest of the staff were great. We ordered the chicken pot pie, hamburger and walnut special salad. All were delicious as well as the frango mint pie. Looking forward to returning

    The wait staff were wonderful and our food came quickly. Everyone was so nice. The hostess seated us promptly and even asked us where we preferred to be seated which of course was as close as possible to the big Christmas tree and she accommodated our group of ten. We did have a reservation. Loved the decorations, this is the second year our group of ten has come to the Walnut Room for one final Holiday celebration of the season.

    The food was delicious, the waitress friendly and attentive, and being at the old Field's Walnut Room was nostalgic. The lobster bisque was perfect on a winter day.

    Going to the Walnut Room for the holidays is so special. The Christmas tree is spectacular, food was delicious, and service was wonderful. We'll definitely be back next year during the holidays!
